Firemen know how dangerous a flash-over is, but so do professionals in the chemical, petrochemical and oil industries. An unexpected and explosive flash-over occurs when gases and inflammable substances suddenly ignite. For example when oxygen pours into a room. THERMAL SHRINKAGE Exposure to flames also results in shrinkage. Clothing shrinks and tightens on the skin, losing its insulating effect and increasing the risk of burns. In a flashover, TenCate Tecasafe Plus - XL 9700 shows virtually no shrinkage and therefore provides greater protection. The EN-IEC : 2007 class 1, 4kA test measures the temperature increase in the amount of heat that penetrates the and reaches the skin. The Stoll Curve is the boundary that indicates how much radiant heat is required to inflict seconddegree burns. The lower the transfer-of-heat rate is on the Stoll Curve, the lower the risk of seconddegree burning. The higher the Delta value ( T), the less chance of second-degree burns. The cellulosic fibre spinning process is much greener. All the non-toxic chemicals that are required to dissolve the wood pulp are fully reused, except for 0.1%.
