Who are we? UK Road Safety & Global Road Safety joined strengths in 2009 to form a road safety partnership with the aim of contributing to the reduction of injuries & death on the world's roads. UK Global Road Safety has developed a deserved reputation for the quality of their Fleet Management Online Driver Training system along with the aftercare & support provided to our customers. Vision Statement UK Global Road Safety will be a recognised leader in the provision of Online Driver Training & road safety education programmes. Mission Statement UK Global Road Safety will strive to contribute to reduction in the incidence of death & serious injuries on roads by increasing awareness of the individual to take responsibility for their actions when driving through their delivery of Road Safety driver training programmes. A Proactive Approach to Road Safety: Irrespective of whether an individual, company or organisation undertakes a road safety or Fleet Driver Training programme, the results reach beyond those directly involved. Programmes result in drivers having a greater understanding of their responsibility and how this may affect their company or organisation This is demonstrated through enhanced driving techniques, improved behaviour and a more responsible attitude. Such an improved approach to road safety & driving by the individual will lead to an enhanced public image of a company or organisation by the public, reducing whole life vehicle costs & safeguarding individuals and company or organisations assets. Above all the safety of the individual driver, passengers and the general public is improved. In addition to the individual benefits of enhanced safety, organisations will see a reduction in their overall fleet fuel costs, vehicle incident rates, down time, insurance premiums and general maintenance costs. Benefits of Fleet Driver Training programmes are often far reaching beyond the company, as information is disseminated through family and friends
Driver Online Risk Management Overview The Online Driver Training & Fleet Risk Management programme was pioneered in 1988 & has become the Industry Standard for global online driver & fleet risk management solutions, with over 1 million drivers undertaking the training programmes. This unique, web-based, global fleet risk management solution which is proven to significantly reduce collisions, injuries, costs and liability exposure. All modules have been developed using HD real-motion video, containing local footage along with localised languages. Each module has been designed through the assistance of local driver training professionals within each country. UK Global Road Safety recognises that a one size does not fit all; therefore the online driver training programme has been designed for maximum client flexibility. Clients have the ability to run programmes configured differently for departments, divisions & driver or even global locations for their company. The programme consists of 3 key components:- Hazard Perception Evaluation Programme Defensive Driver Training Modules Company Vehicle Policy Testing This fleet risk management application provides a flexible and fully customisable fleet risk identification and mitigation solution available in over 40 countries and 48 languages. Each component has been designed to act as a standalone application or can work in conjunction with one or more of the other components. Specifically designed to reduce the risk associated with employees driving for work, this system will enable you to improve the overall safety and well-being of your drivers and their families by reducing collisions and injuries.
Hazard Perception Evaluation This High Definition Hazard Perception application is used to assess a driver's risk level based on their ability to identify actual and potential dangerous driving situations that occur on our roads. This Hazard Perception program provides a key indicator of a driver s propensity to be involved in a crash or collision and is able to automatically assign targeted training modules to mitigate each individual driver s risk. The client will experience a series of twenty HD real-life traffic scenarios after which they will be required to answer 28 multiple-choice questions relating to the safe operation of a motor vehicle. The scenarios present the driver with a view through the front windscreen from the driver's seat, as well as real time rear view & external mirror perspectives (see example above), which captures the experience of driving in the real Assessment Criteria The assessment evaluates a driver s performance in six core areas: Hazard monitoring Risk perception Space management Speed management Attitude Other drivers Key Benefits Identifies a driver's propensity for incident involvement Proactive system that prescribes a targeted training regime Utilises a complex algorithm evaluates no of attempts & answers to theory questions Calibrates driver's score & automatically assigns specific corrective modules based on drivers' deficiencies Risk identification & mitigation in one solution
Defensive Driver Training This online Defensive Driving programme represents the most advanced system of its kind in the world. It is the main risk mitigation component of the system and like the other components it can be used as a standalone or part of a suite of modules depending upon the client's preferences. The programme utilises full-motion, real-life video footage which is one of the reasons why it is so effective. Research suggests that adults do not respond to training programs that resemble cartoons or computer generated animation, which is the format that has been adopted by many of our competitors. It s a well-known fact that we all learn differently, therefore the most effective way to teach people, is by combining the three major learning styles:- Reading & comprehension Statistics, numbers & graphs Audio & video To ensure maximum benefits are achieved, a customised module programme can be delivered at a prescribed rate such as one module a week, bi-weekly or monthly. This pulse learning approach maximises intake of information, rather than drivers cramming in & simply ticking the box. Bespoke Training Regime The modular approach allows organisations to identify their top crash causes and then implement bespoke training through the Defensive Driver Training module targeted at individuals through to departments or divisions of an organisation. The aim is not to teach people to drive. Instead, the focus is to allow drivers to recognise bad driving behaviour/attitudes & reinforce the need for safe driving practices. Key Benefits Modules take between minutes HD real life video footage utilised throughout rather than cartoon style animation Available in 40 countries with relevant local contents Clients routinely see 30-50% reduction in collisions/crashes & severity Automatic correspondence via with trainees who are overdue lessons (improves compliance)
Policy Testing This Policy Testing application is perhaps the easiest and most cost effective way for clients to eliminate a portion of their fleet s risk. We can take a client s written vehicle policy and convert it into a custom built training module that drivers can be tested on. Staff Compliance Despite organisations developing transport Health & Safety policies & deploying these in print and on their intranet many employees and senior management are unaware of their existence & importance. This can leave organisations open to increased exposure to liability & litigation. By incorporating your organisations transport H&S within our Policy Testing Module you can ensure that all existing & new employees are fully conversant with this policy. As part of completing the policy testing module, drivers are asked to acknowledge that they have read and understood the policy and this information is stored for future reference. It is strongly recommended that the pass rate be set at 100% for this module, which covers the core aspects of the policy in detail. Policy Content The content of the policy testing module is down to your organisation to decide. Along with expected content of such a document this is an opportunity to convey to employees that sanctions may exist for breach of organisations policy beyond that of the law. Employees risk losing jobs & risk suffering associated issues in losing their job. We will write a pre-determined number of questions pertaining to the policy and submit them for your approval. The system will randomly select 10 questions from this bank and present them to the driver in a multiple choice quiz format. Key Benefits Policy Testing eliminates a large portion of fleet risk by ensuring all drivers have read & understood your policy Reduces your organisations fleet accident costs & liability exposure Protects against negligence cases An effective risk mitigation solution Also applicable to your grey fleet
Management Information One of the key features of this system is its unique Management Information System. The online MIS enables you to easily manage and monitor the entire driving risk management process giving you the ability to produce real-time reporting on all aspects of your training activities. The MIS provides a comprehensive range of reporting options by individual driver, cost centre and business function, including details of completed hazard perception evaluations, preassigned targeted training modules as well as compliance and exception reporting. Specific reports can also be produced for example, most commonly assigned training modules, number of attempts on each learning module by driver and policy test compliance. Key Benefits Secure on-line database of all drivers Available 24/7 Details of all drivers risk status and required actions Access for nominated Line Managers to track driver compliance and view results Details driver training requirements for each individual driver and attendance date Access key information at the touch of a button Real-time reporting of all risk factors Establishes an audit trail
Paternal Approach An organisation may suffer financial losses from third party crashes & injuries that have no bearing upon their own organisation. If a family member of one of your employees is injured in a road traffic crash that your organisation has no involvement in, you may find that your employee is required to stay off work to look after their family. As a result of this your organisation will suffer financial losses for which the organisation may be unable to claim any recompense. To help overcome this UK Global Road Safety adopt a Paternal approach to our driver training. UK Global Road Safety has always believed that organisations benefit by providing driver training to their employees families (paternal approach). Our online programme allows all those undergoing training to provide an opportunity to their spouse or family member to take the same online training at no cost. This additional training programme session is not a diluted version; it is the full curriculum in its entirety.
