In Sweden many people associate us with transport by road and that is where we have our roots. But we are developing strongly within other modes of transport, such as ocean, air and rail, and within integrated logistics solutions. This is where we can see major potential for the future. The global company DB Schenker was founded over 100 years ago by Gottfried Schenker in Vienna, Austria. He understood early on the advantages of public transport of goods consolidating goods from different consignors. This is still the basis of our operations. Today DB Schenker in Sweden is a wholly-owned subsidiary of DB Schenker, which is part of the Deutsche Bahn transport and logistics division. DB Schenker is one of the world s largest logistics companies, with 88,000 employees at 2,000 offices throughout the world. We currently deliver over 26 million parcels each year. This has given us experience and routines that are second to none. DB SCHENKERparcel is a parcel service for companies. With Schenker, sending parcels to companies is simple, speedy and secure, regardless of whether the consignee is in Sweden, Europe or somewhere else in the world. If you have frequent consignments you can also choose from our customised solutions and in doing so enjoy even more benefits. Flexible private deliveries DB SCHENKERprivpak is a parcel service for mail-order and e-trade companies that deliver to private persons. We have tailored a whole range of smart services for e-trade companies that need to send parcels to private persons. Ready-made solutions are available for booking, payment and track & trace. DB SCHENKERprivpak also offers several different modes of delivery. The recipient can choose to collect the parcel from one of our 1,600 collection points or have it delivered to their home or place of work or via one of our terminals. If it is a small company or a private individual that sends small volumes and feels that it is convenient to send a parcel via our network of collection points, you can make use of the DB Schenker Privpak Private Parcel service. You can book everything quickly and simply on print out the freight documents and hand the parcel in at your nearest collection point. Sustainable development Our ambition is to be the most sustainable logistics provider in the world. In Europe alone, 85 per cent of our operations are ISO certified. We are aware of our responsibility for the environment and the aim is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions per tonne-kilometre by at least 20 per cent before 2020 (within Sweden by 50 per cent). Our strategy for achieving this objective is in the form of a seven-point programme, including eco-driving, reduced speed, new vehicles, better fuels and intermodal transport. Road safety is also an important aspect of environmental work at the company and driver behaviour is a key element. Together with the hauliers we are working actively to change the attitude to speeding. The company s own vehicles are all equipped with alco-locks. 3

Domestic We deliver your parcels rapidly, simply and securely within Sweden. All you need to do is to fill in one transport document and we take care of the rest. We have a simple pricing system and the same price applies throughout the country. Through consolidation we make maximum use of our trucks, which is also good for the environment. Our traffic planning system makes it possible to collect later and deliver earlier than other companies on the market. Multi-parcel consignments, a generous rate for bulky items and personal handover are other advantages. Europe We have the most complete land network for parcel distribution. This means that we handle all transport movements within the same network, offering your customers peace of mind. If you need to send a large number of consignments on the same day within Europe you can use our bulk consignments. If you need to send individual consignments you can choose the Single service. 6

7 World It is just as simple to send parcels to the rest of the world as it is within Sweden and Europe. In our worldwide parcel network your goods are delivered quickly and safely according to a timetable. And we naturally take care of all peripheral services, including customs clearance. Logistics parcel The Logistics parcel service is a cost-effective solution if you have a large number of irregular consignments destined for the same consignee. With Logistics parcel you have a more rational order-picking system and a later order stop. You pack and label and we then group the parcels into one consignment. Unit cage The Unit cage service is designed for those who have a large number of parcels destined for the same consignee on one and the same occasion. You fill the cage with as many parcels as you wish up to a maximum weight of 500 kg and attach an STL label. To avoid the cost of return freight and in doing so reduce impact on the environment, the cage is made of cardboard. The cage is included in the service and it can be ordered from your nearest DB Schenker office. We collect and deliver at a unit price that is the same throughout the country. The unit cage can also be fitted with a lock to prevent unauthorised access. 7

You also have access to functions for booking, printing out freight documents, checking consignment status, calculating the freight cost and issuing notification. In the stress of day-to-day life it could be simpler to receive a parcel at work or pick it up at a collection point near the supermarket instead of having it delivered at home. Via a collection point With our collection point service you can send parcels to private persons or small companies via our 1,600 parcel collection points. With us, your customer always has the option of choosing which of our collection points to send the parcel. We also provide solutions if your customer wishes to return something. Depending on your parcel structure and annual volume, we offer two delivery alternatives via parcel collection points. Collection point Standard is suitable for parcels to private persons and small companies in Sweden with a volume of up to 12,000 parcels per year. Parcels are transported from you directly to one of our 1,600 collection points and your customer is notified the day after. Home This service is a safe, simple way of delivering goods to private persons in Sweden. We deliver when the recipient is at home and can receive the goods in person, both daytime and evening. Terminal With the DB SCHENKERprivpak Terminal service, consignments weighing kg are sent to private persons and small businesses in Sweden. Delivery takes place using one of our 28 DB Schenker terminals located throughout the country. The service is aimed primarily at companies that deliver larger and/or more expensive products, such as fridge-freezers, television sets and similar items to private persons. Collection point Economy offers you competitive prices for volumes in excess of 12,000 parcels per year. Collection point Economy is ideal for those who have parcels to private persons and small companies where the size and shape of the parcels make them suitable for consolidation. The parcels are delivered to our parcel collection points in Sweden or Finland via one of our consolidation hubs, thus explaining the competitive price. At work The recipient can also choose to have the parcel delivered to their place to work. This is on condition that the employer has granted consent. An interesting alternative for those who are often busy or who are seldom at home. 11

12 Private parcel for small companies and private persons If you are a small company or private person and feel it is convenient to send via our national network of collection points, you can use the DB Schenker Privpak Private Parcel service. The service is ideal if you send 0-5 parcels per day. We have a network of almost 1,600 collection points throughout Sweden where you can hand in or collect parcels. Here you can also buy our packaging. Your parcel is normally delivered within 2-4 working days. Depending a little on where in the country the sender and recipient live, it could take 1-2 days extra. Private Parcel can only be sent within Sweden and the maximum weight is 10 kg. For safer deliveries For us it is important that you feel that your parcel is in safe hands. That is why we have created DB Schenker Safe Parcel (included in the freight price). Parcel tracking you can keep an eye on where your parcel is at any time. With the aid of a parcel ID you can follow the path of the parcel from sender to receiver. We offer traceability from 0 kg. Parcel replacement if your parcel is damaged or lost you are always entitled to compensation for the full value of the goods up to SEK 1,500 + freight, regardless of the weight of the consignment. Purchase or use your own packaging You can send the parcel using your own packaging or use our practical packaging which can be purchased at the majority of our collection points. 14 Public transport for goods an environmentally smart system At DB Schenker we are economic in our thinking and mindful of the environment. We therefore consolidate parcel deliveries from many different companies. The fact that your parcel travels with other parcels offers you a cost-effective, environmentally smart transport solution. DB Schenker is the biggest in Sweden when it comes to land transport and means that we have a lot more goods in our system than our competitors. To make maximum use of our vehicles we consolidate all consignments goods from different customers with the same final destination travel together. This allows us to use our truck capacity to the full. Not one single kilometre unnecessarily Our consolidation terminals can be likened to major airports or central railway stations. Because the transport takes place efficiently not one single kilometre is driven unnecessarily. This is what we call public transport for goods. Delivery then takes place using our own distribution vehicles and using fixed routes and timetables. DB Schenker s seven points to reduce CO 2 emissions Our aim is to reduce CO 2 emissions by more than 50 per cent through to 2020 with 2005 as the base year. This is quite a task and not something we can achieve entirely on our own. We need to work with lots of different partners from our own hauliers to public authorities.
