3 IP Finder for MPix13 Connect MPix IP camera and computer to the Switch (or Router) Plug DC12V Power to MPix IP camera. Go to Utility Select MPix13 camera Select MPix13 2.Click IP address 4.Click selected camera 3.Click Add 1.Click Selected IP 5. Type IP, Gateway, Subnet Mask Refer to Tip for IP config 6. Type Connect Port & Web port 7. Type PW admin 8. Click Apply <Tips> IP Config 1.Camera should have same Subnet Mask and Gateway number as your computer but different IP number from any other network device connected to the network. 2. How to check Gateway and Subnet Mask on your network. 2. Click Run 3. Type ipconfig and hit enter 4. Check Subnet and Gateway of your Computer 1. 5 IP Finder for MPix20 SP10 IP Installer is dedicated utility to find MPix20 SP10. It doesn t detect any other MPix camera. 1. Click Search it will scan all MPix20 SP10 from not only same subnet, but also different subnet, too. 2. If you want to change IP address, click from list and change all information. 3. Click Save

6 IP Finder (Setup for Multiple Cameras) You can setup multiple cameras by using IP Generation For example, if IP address starts with , You can setup IP address , 12, 13 accordingly You can also generate different port numbers accordingly 2.Click Add 1.Click All IP 4. Input first avaialbe IP address 3.Click IP Generation If 2 is entered, IP address will be incsed by 2 MPix13 IP generation screen Default Port Port (Connection): 9000 Web Port: 80 Setup Port: 9001 ID: admin Password: admin MPix20 IP generation screen Default Port CMS Port: 5000 Web Port: 80 RTSP Port: 554 ID: root Password: admin 6

7 Make DB(Database) ******************Warning******************* Set time&date&time Zone in your window first. If you change time after making DB, you have big chance of losing video data. Start CMS Click Lock Type ID&PW ID:admin PW:admin Click Setup 2. Select HDD to save video data in 3. Click << to add 1. Click Storage 4. Check Fixed Mode 6. Click Make DB 5. Select number of DB. *What is DB(Database) from MPix CMS? 7. Click Save&Close 1. MPix CMS physically assigns the location of the recording data on the HDD even before recording. It is a proprietary HDD partition. By doing that, it avoids the HDD fragment issues and makes the video search faster and HDD life cycle longer. 2. You can create up to 4 different DB to maximize your storage performance. 3. You can program each group to record on different DB(different HDD) 7

8 Server Setup You can make the system as server or client. 1. Server Mode 2. Client Mode Server Client Client Viewing & Recording from MPix Viewing & Recording from Server Or MPix 2. Check Server system Viewing & Recording from only MPix 3. Check application for Surveillance, Search, and Backup 4. Double Check Server Port Default: Click Server What is the difference between server and client mode? Server can be accessed by another client. But client can t access another client. When server is connected with client, client can view, search and backup from server. 8

9 Add Site (Site=IP camera) 1. Click 2. Right Click Add Site 2. Select IP camera 3. Type Camera ID&PW ID: root PW: root 1. Click IP Finder Whenever a site is added or deleted, message shows up 9

10 Add Group (Group: Group of IP Cameras) 1. Click 2. Right Click Group 3. Click Add Group 4. Click Editing 5. Select camera 8. Click Save&Close 6. Click Addition 7. Click OK 10

11 2. Click Schedule Set Group Schedule (From Add Group continued) 1. Check Use Schedule) 1.Click Schedule 2. Click Channel 3. Select Recording Type 4. Drag Mouse on the table to change record type 5.After setting all the channels, click Save&Close 11

12 Set Group Mode (From Add Group continued) 2. Right Click Group 1. Click 3. Click Set Group Mode <Tips> Connect Group vs Set Group Mode - Connect Group: Live picture shows up (No Recording) unless schedule recording is enabled. - Set Group Mode: Live picture shows up + Schedule Recording (If schedule is set up) 1. If you click Set Group Mode and nothing happens, go to Edit Group and double check Schedule Setup 12

13 Motion Setup 1.Right Click on Camera screen 2. Click Motion/Object Setting 1. Click Motion 2. Check Use Motion Detection 3. Click Setting 4. Adjust Sensitivity Red(+) : More sensitive Blue : Less sensitive White : No Motion 5. Drag on the screen to select area 6. Click Save&Close <Tips> Use Motion Detection is a mandatory step for schedule recording. If motion setup is not checked, schedule recording for motion will not work. 13

14 Search Click Search Selected DB Info 1. Double Click Group1 Local : Manual Record Group : Schedule Record 2. Click Red Date Play Control Buttons 3. Click hour in bold 4. 15 Backup 1.Double Click Group 2. Click Red Date 3. Click Backup 1. Select Common Backup 2. Set Start Time & End Time 3. Select folder 4. Select video format -.inf: This is the same format as CMS. This option copies the player s/w to the backup folder by itself. -.avi :Since MPix13 uses standard MPEG4 codec, this format can be played on any media player w/o additional codec installation. Select Continous Record Select Motion Record Select Sensor Record 5. Click No. of ch to backup 6. Click Backup Size to see the size of the selected video 7. Click Backup 15

16 Remote Backup 1. Click Search 2. Click Site address view 3 Double Click server 4 Click db1 5 Select DB Rest of backup process is same as local backup (Page13) Note Step 3: If you successfully connect CMS System (i.e ). The icon of CMS system turns to red. Step 4: If you can see more than db1, you have more than 1 db (i.e db1, db2, db3 ; maximum db number is 4) See page 12 for detail information. 17 Backup Play <Tips> 1. Backup Player is just for.inf format backup. 2. *.avi format does not require backup player. Since MPix13 uses standard MPEG4 codec, *.avi format can be played on any media player without additional codec installation. Start Player 1.Double Click Date 2. Select Date 4. Click Play 3. Select Hour / Min After opening the file, it is exactly same as CMS Search Mode. And, CMS Search Mode has file open feature just like player s/w. 17

18 Multi Monitor Setup Activate Multi Monitor from window display properties Click Setup Click Plugin Select Monitor Mode <Tips> 1. You can switch between monitors by hitting the numeric number (1~4) on your key pad. 2. MPix CMS supports up to 4 monitors. After installing multi-vga cards and activating them, CMS sees them automatically and you can select monitor mode. 3. If your VGA card does not support overlay on any of the connected monitors, turn off the overlay feature. 18

19 PTZ Controller Setup Click PTZ icon Zoom and Focus PTZ Control Panel Control Speed Bar Setup Home Position For PTZ CAM Check Use Controller Control Speed Bar <Tips> 1. IP Camera Partial Zoom supports only Digital Zoom in. Pan & Tilt is possible after zoom-in 2. Protocol, Port Bit rate, Parity, Data bits and Stop bits should be matched with controller. 3. If Controller doesn t support RS232C out, you need to have RS485 to RS232 Convert in order to connect between controller and NVR. 19
