1 YFC/Youth Unlimited Woodstock 24 Light St, Woodstock, Ontario N4S 6G8 Phone: (519) We see the hope and potential in every young person. August 2013 Dear K2K families: Welcome to the 9 th year of K2K Productions! With renewed energy, enthusiasm and faithfulness we are excited about the opportunity to engage your children in both character and artistic development. We meet for 2 hours each week. Each session is divided into production and small group components to facilitate personal and artistic growth. Monday s, 6-8pm (starting Sept 23, 2013) Innerkip Presbyterian Church 64 Blandford St, Innerkip, ON Registration forms for this year s program are available online at Printed copies are also available as a brochure which you can forward to any interested students or parents. To help make life easier for our dedicated volunteers, please fill out and return all forms prior to the first session (return 4 completed pages), or at time of registration! This year, we are excited to be staging Stephen Flaherty s Seussical. Dr. Seuss believes in helping a friend, in not giving up and in keeping a promise. He believes in the value and dignity of others, in working to preserve the fragile sweetness of the natural world and he believes that peace is the ultimate ideal -among nations and in every heart. Dr. Seuss also believes in the power of the imagination. We will find all these serious concerns at the heart of Seussical! I look forward to our journey together and discovering God s heart within this great production. Oh, the places we ll go! From March May 2014 additional times will be added for production rehearsals and performances. We ask that parents consider the additional practice times before committing to any role offered to their child. Casting and rehearsal schedules will follow. The task of mounting a full-scale theatrical production is monumental. We rely on the dedication of our volunteers (young and old) and our K2K families. Our program has been very blessed by the servant-hearts of our leaders and K2K parents. We strongly believe that this spirit of volunteerism is crucial to the success of our program. Please read the attached volunteer form and consider how you might be able to share, support our children, and develop your gifts throughout the year! If you choose to do so, I believe you will find a community of friends and support for you and your family. Looking forward to an awesome and inspiring year with you and your child! Sincerely, Brian Belleth, Artistic Director YFC/Youth Unlimited Woodstock is a division of Southwestern Ontario Youth for Christ 94 Graham Street, Suite 4, Woodstock ON N4S 6J7 Phone: (519) Fax: (519)

4 Be a K2K Volunteer!!! Every year at K2K we take on the challenge of mounting a full-scale theatrical production using student actors and parent volunteers. As you can see below, there are many areas of expertise and interest which go into a theatrical production. We invite you, our K2K parents and families, to share your unique and wonderful talents throughout the year! Not only is volunteering in this way an awesome chance to share the gifts you already have it s also a great chance to explore and develop new talents. This makes a great opportunity to challenge yourself as well. This is exactly what we ask of our K2K students on a weekly basis! So, please consider how you might be involved, when and how you might share this overall experience with your child this year. We ask each family to make themselves available as volunteers a minimum of 4 hours throughout the year. Please tell us which family member(s) would be interested in lending a hand, and indicate in which area(s) you would be willing to help us during the season by checking off the options below: Name: Telephone: Fundraising Painting Serving (during pre-show dinner ) Kitchen Staff (during pre-show dinner) Prop making Set construction Technical arts Set up /Tear Down (Dec/Feb/May) Sponsorship (Oct May) Set Design Sewing Special Events Volunteer (throughout year) Marketing Stage help (backstage) Set decorating Hair & make-up Phone calling Promotions (delivering posters) Other(s):
