14 L E G A L R E Q U I R E M E N T S In order to legally marry in Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino, there are a few requirements couples need to fulfill. Weddings are available from Monday through Saturday between 10am to 4pm. Bride, Groom and witnesses must arrive to the hotel 4 business days prior to the wedding day (Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays are not considered business days), the wedding coordinator must receive the following documents in order to start the corresponding application for a marriage in the Civil Registry Office. Requirements: The wedding must take place on the premises Services for the Judge is $400 US. Wedding petition form and all legal documents must be sent to the resort three months prior to clients arrival. The Wedding couple must arrive on the island at least 4 working days prior to wedding. Certified copy of the wedding couples birth certificates. Both birth certificates must be issued within one year, with an embossed seal and Apostille seal- (On each separate document). The birth certificates need to state the names of the parents. The Wedding Petition Form must be signed by the wedding couple with the same signature appearing on their passports. Copy of valid PASSPORTS with full names and signatures. 6 Witnesses are required with a copy of each of their passports- must be 18 years or older. If divorced, Certified Copy of the final divorce decree(s) with an embossed seal and Apostille Seal is required. If widowed, Certified Copy of the death certificate for deceased spouse and previous Wedding certificate with an embossed seal and Apostille Seal is required. Original Single Certificate (documents of no record of marriage) issued by a register office in place of residence (issued 6 months before the wedding day) with an embossed seal and the Apostille Seal- On each separate document. A blood test is NOT required. $400 for legal ceremony cancelation within 30 days All the documents required must be original and certified copies and must have an original signature with an embossed seal and Apostille Seals, on each separate document. The Wedding Coordinator will send you the legal request form (Wedding Petition Form) to fulfill the following information: names, addresses, nationalities, ages, occupation & relationship for bride, groom and witnesses, (witnesses can be relatives, friends or anyone who has a passport. Any fees for the above mentioned services are included in our Wedding Packages. It is the couple s responsibility to have all the documents ready and on time on island. Important Notes: Judges do not celebrate weddings on Sunday or holidays. Names on all legal documents must perfectly match (birth certificates, copy of ID and tourist card) These documents MUST be sent to the resort three months prior to client s arrival, with the Wedding couples information form to the attention of the Wedding Coordinator.
