1 Preamble The Badmintn Wrld Federatin (BWF) is the wrld gverning bdy fr the sprt and has its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Badmintn has been an Olympic Games sprt since the Barcelna Olympic Games in The Olympic Games is the tp wrld event in badmintn. The BWF has 179 Members wh are natinal badmintn federatins respnsible fr regulating and develping the sprt in their cuntry. Cntinental Cnfederatins administer, manage and develp the sprt tgether with the natinal federatins in their regin. There are five Cntinental Cnfederatins: Badmintn Africa Badmintn Asia Badmintn Eurpe Badmintn Oceania Badmintn Pan America The BWF, It s Member Assciatins, and Cntinental Cnfederatins wrk tgether in a crdinated apprach t the develpment f the sprt wrldwide. The BWF Cuncil is respnsible fr prviding plicy and administrative guidance t the Executive Bard wh versees the day t day peratins f the Federatin. The Cuncil is appinted by the Annual General Meeting fr a fur year term. The Executive Bard is made up f key fficers f the rganisatin - the President, Deputy President and seven Vice Presidents and Chairs f Cuncil Cmmittees. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is respnsible fr day t day peratins and is accuntable t the Executive Bard and Cuncil. 2 Overall Duties Reprting t the Events Directr the Events Technical Manager will lead tw Events Officers and be respnsible fr the recruitment, training and appintment f BWF Technical Officials, the implementatin f the Wrld Ranking system and the system f entries (M & Q lists), draws and withdrawals and autmatic penalties fr internatinal turnaments. Internal Liaisn External Liaisn Other department heads Events Cmmittee Chair Events Cmmittee and Cmmissins Organising Cmmittees BWF Events, ther events Member Assciatins and Cntinental Cnfederatins Technical Officials and ther event persnnel BWF staff Technical Supprt Team Turnament Planner Anti-dping agencies / dping cntrl fficers Cre Respnsibilities The key respnsibilities f the psitin are t: assist the Events Directr in the effective delivery f the BWF Events Department busy prgramme f events Line Management f Events Staff, including regular perfrmance appraisals in rder t deliver the fllwing; Ensuring prductin and publicatin f weekly Wrld Rankings (including Wrld Junir Rankings and Wrld Team Rankings) Managing the entry (M & Q lists), draw & results reprting prcesses fr BWF Level 1 t 3 Sanctined Turnaments Cllect and distribute Referee s Reprts Manage the withdrawal prcess fr BWF events Liaising with CC s n Level 4 turnament entries (M & Q lists), Draw s, results etc. Ensuring effective administratin f withdrawals prcesses, autmatic penalties - & penalties fr miscnduct cards Taking the lead n IT develpments t speed up and imprve the wrk f the Events Department, including further develpment f the On line entry prcess fr events. Administering Umpire and Referee s Training/Assessr teams, the key wrkfrce t imprve standards and quality f BWF technical fficials including; Leading the appintment prcess f BWF Technical Officials fr events; Administratin f TO s (accmmdatin, expenses, travel, prblems etc.) Supprting administratin f Technical Cmmissin Recruitment BWF Page : 2

3 Enabling expansin f trainers/assessrs in key appraisal/mentring rle f BWF Technical Official Wrkfrce with the aim f imprving the quality f the technical fficial s wrkfrce including; Wrking with Referee trainers/assessrs t rganise and deliver a series f Referee Wrkshps. Creating and delivery f series f Umpire Wrkshps in partnership with CC s. Preparing and publishingthe Technical Officials newsletter (COC Tales). Leading recruitment, training and appraisal system fr BWF Technical Officials Advance prductin with relevant experts f training materials (fr example standard natinal umpires curse) fr Technical Officials. Liaising with CC s n recruitment and training at CC level expand wrkfrce available t BWF. In additin t the abve supprt the general wrk f the Events Department and als ensure it is carried ut efficiently and accurately including but nt limited t these key prcesses: Supprting the planning and peratins f BWF Events; Supprting the planning and delivery f develpment initiatives. Assist where apprpriate with wrk related t the BWF cmmunicatin strategy and plans. This especially cmmunicatin related t the BWF Superseries, Grand Prix Gld Series, the BWF website and frm time t time assisting/advising the BWF cmmunicatins fficer. Other tasks and wrk as directed by the Events Directr frm time t time and as necessary. Selectin Criteria The key criteria belw will be used as a basis fr shrt listing candidates fr the interview phase. Relevant frmal qualificatins university degree r similar 2. Experience in administratin rles. 3. Has wrked n prjects in previus emplyment, preferably in badmintn r anther sprt. Cntract The cntract, fr 3 years, including a 3 mnth prbatinary perid, will be ffered t the successful candidate. Hurs f Wrk The psitin is cntracted and full time 40 hurs a week. The nature f the wrk smetimes requires flexibility during busy perids particularly in the lead up t and during BWF Cuncil, Events Cmmittee and related meetings.
