7 Pollution and environmental protection What is environmental protection? Pollution comes from? Canwe protect environment?

8 What is Environmental Protection? Environmental protection is a practice of protecting the environment, on individual, organizational or governmental level, for the benefit of the natural environment and (or) humans. Protection of the environment is needed from various human activities. We can decease pollution and protect environment!

9 What is Pollutions? Pollution is the introduction of a contaminant into the environment. It is created mostly by human actions, but can also be a result of natural disasters. Pollution has a detrimental effect on any living organism in an environment, making it virtually impossible to sustain life.

10 Pollution Impacts Pollution harms the Earth s environment and its inhabitants in many ways. The three main types of pollution are: Land Pollution Land pollution is pollution of the Earth s natural land surface by industrial, commercial, domestic and agricultural activities. Air Pollution Air pollution is the accumulation of hazardous substances into the atmosphere that danger human life and other living matter. Water Pollution Water pollution is the introduction of chemical biological and physical Water pollution is the introduction of chemical, biological and physical matter into large bodies of water that degrade the quality of life that lives in it and consumes it.

14 How to Prevent Pollution Land Pollution The best way to prevent land pollution is to dispose waste properly, to use soil properly and adequate agricultural practices. Air Pollution The number one way to prevent air pollution is to walk or bike more and drive less. This will prevent fossil fuels from polluting the air Water Pollution The best way to prevent water pollution is to not throw trash and other harmful chemicals into our water supplies.

17 Environmental Protection Environmental protection principles: Preservation of biological-ecological values of the environment through preservation of flora and fauna, and of values of natural heritage. Rational use of resources, reduction of air emissions, reduction of water and soil pollution, and waste recycling. Promotion of energy saving among the public;. Use of highly-efficient home appliances, such as light bulbs; Waste reduction and recycling.

We need clean water to drink and to grow the food we eat. We need clean air to breathe. We need our environment to be clean for our li leisure activities iii swimming, i jogging or playing in the park.
