Construction projects in the GCC exceeded $1 trillion, with two-thirds of the projects being undertaken in the UAE. 10 Safety and Environment ZAROONI & TRANSEMIRATES, consider environmental protection, occupational health and safety at work is part and as important as providing quality standard of work. As such Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) department, was established with two general objectives with two major issues in mind: prevention of incidents or accidents that might result from abnormal operating conditions on one hand and reduction of adverse effects that result from normal operating conditions on the other hand. Working in the building and construction industry is a risky business. Contractors, subcontractors and their workers face risks from hazards that must be managed to prevent any accidents.
