Your EAC bill contains a great deal of useful information. The purpose of these explanatory notes is to help you to improve your understanding of the electricity bill. The numbering on the bill opposite corresponds with the explanations that follow.

Tariff/s Number/s 63 - Commercial Tariff/s Number/s 63 - Commercial The tariff determines the way in which your consumption is charged. EAC has formulated its tariffs in such a way as to take into account the connection voltage level and the customer s load profile, e.g. consumption behaviour, time of use (peak or off-peak hours). EAC has different tariffs for different electricity usage, classified as Domestic, Commercial (e.g. offices, shops), Industrial (e.g. factories, workshops), Street Lighting, Water Pumping and Off- Peak (storage heaters). For each type of usage, the customer has a choice of tariffs. Some of course require that certain conditions are fulfilled by those eligible. Domestic customers have the choice of tariffs with codes: 05, 06, 07 and 08. Commercial customers have the choice of tariffs with codes 5, 6, 7, 60, 6, 62,63, 64 and 66, while industrial customers have the choice of tariffs with codes 25, 26, 27, 70, 7, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76, 83.

2 Load Entitlement 320 KVA 3-Ph 2 Load Entitlement 320 KVA 3-Ph This shows the Maximum Demand the customer is entitled and whether the load is single-phase or threephase. Please note that in some cases, the load entitlement may not be shown.

3 Power Factor 0,76 3 Power Factor 0,76 This shows the proportion of useful energy consumed and recorded by the meter in kwh to the total energy recorded in kvah. The remainder is reactive energy and is recorded by the meter as kvarh. Customers can improve their Power Factor and lower their bills through the installation of Power Factor Correction Devices in their installations. The Power Factor (PF) is calculated in this way: PF = kwh kvah The Power Factor, according to the General Conditions of Supply, may not be below 0.85 and should fluctuate between 0.85 and. The unit is the ideal Power Factor.

4 Load Factor 0,70 4 Load Factor 0,70 This shows to some extent the stability of electricity usage 24 hours a day for the whole month. It is desirable that the Load Factor be maintained as high as possible and its maximum value is (theoretically). It is calculated on the base of the total metered consumption of the month and the maximum demand recorded in kva, i.e.: LF = Total units consumed in the month (kwh) Maximum Demand (kva) x Hours in the month x Power Factor (PF) The Load Factor each month determines the charge for each kva of the maximum demand and for every kwh unit supplied. (Tariffs 6, 62, 63, 66, 7, 72, 73 and 76).

5 Meter Readings (kwh) Tariff Present Previous M.F. Consumption 63 P I O Peak (P), Off-Peak (O), Normal (N) Periods 5 Meter Readings (kwh) Tariff Present Previous M.F. Consumption 63 P I O These are the periods determined from time to time by EAC, at its absolute discretion and based on the system load curve the smoothing of which results in reduction of operating costs. EAC identifies those periods during the day and the year when load transfer is desirable or undesirable and through its tariffs encourages or discourages electricity usage during these periods. For the time being, these periods are: P - consumption recorded during peak hours, i.e. between 09:00 and 7:00, Monday to Friday, June to September (relates to Tariff 07). O - consumption recorded during off-peak hours, i.e. between 23:00 and 07:00 (relates to Tariff 06). N - consumption recorded during normal hours, i.e. between 07:00 and 23:00 (relates to Tariff 06). N - consumption recorded during the months October-May, at all weekends of the year and between the hours 7:00 and 09:00 during the months June- September, when it relates to Tariff 07, 7, 27. For bills on which the above information does not appear, charges are independent of the time of the year or the hours of consumption.

6 Current fuel price: 263,75/M.T This is the Weighted Average Fuel Price of the Month (WAFP) which is calculated every month on the basis of the fuel consumption and cost of fuel as shown below (in simplified form): Cost of fuel consumption of the month + COSMOS charge Amount of fuel consumed during the month COSMOS (Cyprus Organisation for Storage and Management of Oil Stocks) Charge: EAC pays a charge to COSMOS for every metric ton (M.T.) it receives. The current fuel price which is calculated every month is used for: Monthly customers whose meter reading is recorded the month following the calculation of the current price. Bi-monthly customers whose meter reading is recorded two months after the calculation of the current price. 6 Current fuel price: 263,75/M.T

7 Fuel adjustment charge - 0,008990/kWh 7 Fuel adjustment charge - 0,008990/kWh The per unit (kwh) charges are automatically adjusted by the fuel adjustment charge, to cover any increase or decrease in the cost of fuel per metric ton (M.T.). The Fuel Adjustment Charge is calculated on the basis of the current and basic fuel price. The price of unit (KWh) charged shall be increased or decreased by the value of the coefficient of fuel adjustment currently in force ( cent) for every 5 cent increase or decrease in the basic price of 300 per Metric Ton (M.T.) of fuel cost. The Fuel Adjustment Charge is equal to: (Current Fuel Price Basic Fuel Price) Χ Coefficient of Fuel Adjustment 5 Basic Fuel Price: 300 / Μ.Τ Coefficient of Fuel Adjustment : 0,00 σεντ The Fuel Adjustment Charge which is calculated every month is used for: Monthly customers whose meter reading is recorded the month following the calculation of the Fuel Adjustment Charge. Bi-monthly customers whose meter reading is recorded two months after the calculation of the Fuel Adjustment Charge.

8 Check digits 999 The three Check Digits are used with the account number for the online settlement of bills. 8 Check digits 999

9 Premise Id The Premise ID is unique for each premise. It remains the same even if there is a change in tenancy and/or account number. For some EAC services, e.g. when reporting a fault to the EAC Contact Centre, customers may be asked to provide the 0 digit Premise ID. 9 Premise Id

0 Analysis for the period 3/07/206 3/08/206 It shows the period to which the bill refers. 0 Analysis for the period 3/07/206 3/08/206

Fuel Adjustment ,00899 The Fuel Adjustment is the result of the increase/decrease in the cost of fuel. It is calculated by multiplying the number of kilowatt hours (kwh) by the Fuel Adjustment Charge (see note 7). Fuel Adjustment ,00899

2 Max. Demand INTERM. 4,70 Measurement of MD takes place every 20 minutes (average reading) and at the end of the billing period the maximum reading is charged. It is the highest maximum reading of electricity demand in kilovoltamperes (kva) recorded by the meter during the month under consideration. If the Maximum Demand exceeds the load entitlement, a reminder letter is sent to the customer. If the customer does not apply for an increase in load entitlement and the excess in demand is repeated, the Authority will increase the load entitlement, provided that the network allows this, and the customer will be charged accordingly on the next bill. 2 Max. Demand INTERM. 4,70

3 P.S.O. Charge ,00065 The Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA),decided on 23/6/200 (Decision No. 0/200) to allow the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) to recover its costs towards the Public Service Obligations and specifically the loss of revenue, as a result of introducing/applying the new tariff for Large and Needy Families (Tariff code 08). The recovery of costs shall be implemented by charging 0,0065 for every kwh consumed on all electricity bills. This charge is considered as a tariff element/parameter and is subject to VAT. 3 P.S.O. Charge ,00065

4 Charge for RES & ES ,005 The special RES charge has been imposed by Law N.33(I)/2003 and is chargeable to all customers based on their electricity consumption. The resulting amount is deposited by EAC in the Special Fund for RES. Law N.33(I)/2003 provides for the promotion and encouragement of the use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) (wind or solar energy, biomass, etc.) and the creation of a Special Fund for subsidising or financing them. As from 5/5/202 the RES charge is 0,50 cents for every unit (kwh) consumed. 4 Charge for RES & ES ,005

5 Amount Due 2.345,64 This is the sum of all the charges (consumption, VAT, RES and others) less any credit (prepayments, credits in accordance with the Customer s Charter) which the customer must pay EAC by the date shown on the bill, at any EAC Customer Service Centre, Bank or Cooperative Society, or by Standing Order or through internet. 5 Amount Due 2.345,64

6 Payable Unit 9/09/206 This shows the period available to the customer to settle the bill. When this period expires, payment may be made at any EAC Customer Service Centre or online through the EAC website. In case of non-payment, the disconnection process begins.
