1 Primary One Internet System (P1-IS) System Requirements General 1. Must my computer system fulfill any special requirements? For a smooth application via the P1-IS, your computer system must have the following minimum system requirements: a) Internet connection (minimally 512kbps broadband connection to internet is recommended). b) Any internet browser that is compliant with W3C Standards, Java 1.2 Plug-in Standards and JavaScript 1.0/1.1 Standards (Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 and above is recommended). c) Screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. d) Enable Cookies option in the internet browser. e) Enable the Java Applets and JavaScript option in the internet browser. f) Enable the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) v3.0 option in the internet browser. g) Enable the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) option in the internet browser. h) Turn off the Pop-up Blocker option in the internet browser, if applicable. i) If you have any other pop-up blocker software, these must be disabled while accessing the P1-IS. Otherwise, it will prevent the P1-IS from functioning properly. j) Printer is connected and ready to print (for printing of Acknowledgement Slip). k) Add P1-IS URL to the Trusted Zone in the internet browser. 2. How do I enable cookies in the internet browser? c) Select Privacy tab. Click on the Advanced button. The Advanced Privacy Settings dialog will appear. d) Ensure that First-party Cookies and Third- party Cookies have Accept selected. e) Click OK.

2 3. How do I enable Java and JavaScript in the internet browser? c) Select Security tab. Click on the Custom Level button. The Security Settings dialog will appear. d) Scroll down to Active Scripting. Ensure that Enable is selected. e) Scroll down to Scripting of Java applets. Ensure that Enable is selected. f) Click OK. 4. How do I enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) v3.0 in the internet browser? c) Select Advanced tab. The Advanced dialog box will appear. d) Scroll down to Security. Ensure that Use SSL 3.0 is selected. e) Click OK. 5. How do I enable Java Virtual Machine (JVM) in the internet browser? Go to to follow the instruction to download and install java. 6. How to turn off the Pop-up Blocker option in the internet browser? b) Select Pop-up Blocker. c) In the dropdown list, select Turn off Pop-up Blocker. d) Click Yes.

3 7. How do I add Trusted Sites in the Internet Browser? c) Select Security Tab. d) Click on Trusted Sites icon. e) Click on Sites. f) Enter P1-IS URL into Add this web site to the zone. g) Click Add. h) Click OK.

4 Troubleshooting P1-IS 8. Will I be automatically logged out from the system if I stay too long on a particular page? Yes. You will be logged out after 10 minutes if you did not perform any activity on any of the P1-IS pages. 9. During my registration, if I am logged out by the system, will the data that I have entered be saved? No. The data will be lost and you will need to enter the data again. 10. I encountered the error Your spouse is currently logged on to the system. Please try again later in the system. What could be the problem? Your spouse is currently logged on to the system. He/She has to logout from the system first before you can logon. 11. I encountered the error The system is not available. What could be the problem? You may have tried to access the system outside the Phase 2C and Phase 2C Supplementary registration period. Refer to the P1 website for the Phase 2C and Phase 2C Supplementary registration period. 12. How do I print the acknowledgement slip? You may click on the Print icon on your browser. Your computer must be installed and connected to a printer.

5 13. I clicked on a link/button and nothing appears. What could be the problem? You may have a pop-up blocker software that is preventing the system from displaying information in a pop-up window. Please turn off the pop-up blocker software. b) Select Pop-up Blocker. c) In the dropdown list, select Turn Off Pop-up Blocker. d) Click Yes. 14. I encountered the error Unable to process your request in the system. What could be the problem? You might have clicked on the browser s Back, Forward or Refresh button. As the system is session-based, usage of the above mentioned functions may disrupt the flow of the system. If you encounter the error page, please close the existing browser window and try to login using a new browser window. SINGPASS 15. I encountered the error Your session with SingPass has timed-out. Please close the browser and login again at the SingPass logon page. What could be the problem? You might have stay on the Singpass logon page for more than 10 mins without performing any activity. If you encounter this error message, please close the existing browser window and try to login using a new browser window.
