6 Transfer Credit Maximum of 12 USU non-matriculated credits. Courses must have the same numbers, credits, and descriptions as those in EdD program. Eight-year limit on coursework. This rule is applied at the date of graduation. Previous degree credits cannot count toward EdD.

7 Important Cohort Expectations for EdD Courses must be taken in sequence and with the program cohort. You cannot take the same courses through other institutions or other USU programs. But you can count identical courses taken prior to Cohort Enrollment. Learning is interactive! We have minimum enrollment caps (four students per site) plus maximum enrollment caps (20 students for 2010).

19 Program Cost - Estimates Tuition rate: $260* per credit hour (estimate) with waived fees. Total tuition cost: EdD (IL): 60 credits x $260 = $15,600 EdD (Math): 63 credits x $260 = $16,380 EdD/ASC: 64 credits x $260 = $16,640 Tuition increases indexed to percentages mandated by USHE (Regents) Additional costs: books, travel, up-to-date computer, and summer housing

21 Admission Requirements Complete Application Follow directions at: Transcripts (undergraduate & graduate) 3.0 minimum GPA (last 60 semester credits) Three letters of recommendation supporting your academic abilities and leadership abilities (2 from professors if possible) Master s degree from an accredited institution GRE verbal and quantitative scores at or above the 40 th percentile Evidence of writing competency cont.

22 Admission Requirements (cont.) Short typed essay (2 to 3 pages) focused on academic interests, key professional activities, and career goals. Vita (resume) Minimum of two years of teaching experience or equivalent Understanding of and willingness to sign the Declaration of Commitment form Payment of a (nonrefundable) $55 application fee to USU Graduate School

23 Student Selection Process Highly qualified individuals from K-12 education and higher education will be admitted. Math Education group will be smaller than the Instructional Leadership groups. Selection for EdD cohort will be based on overall qualifications of finalists interviewed and viability of cohort site.
