Especially suitable for reaming short holes meeting normal precision requests. For example: repair works. For diameters ranging between 8-65 mm, only 15 pieces reamers are required. The blades are additionally hard-chromed for the hard-chrome version. Hard-chromed reamers are characterized by being particularly hard whilst at the same time having low friction levels. These reamers are especially suitable for reaming materials with high-wear effi ciency and also for materials with a tendency to bond and form build-up edges. Rapidly-adjustable hand reamers with a straight shank, square on one side and fixed pilot rod with a moving conical centre bush on the other side are deliverable on request. These reamers are especially suitable for reaming long holes and double holes. The centre bush leads the reamer additionally and therefore guarantees a perfect cut. IMPORTANT: Under no circumstances may the reamer be turned in the bore hole against the direction of the cut i.e. counter-clockwise. The blades are at risk of becoming blunt and may even break should the reamer be turned in the hole against the direction of the cut. Rapidly-adjustable hand reamers tipped with blades are not roughing tools, but they are suitable for the fine-smoothing of holes. The cutting depth of the reaming process should be between mm, depending upon the diameter and material used. Where the removal of metal is too low, the reamer no longer cuts and only sharpens the hole, and therefore becomes blunt. 16

12 Machine reamers DIN 212 may be used for all blind holes and through holes in single as well as in series productions. Machine reamers with spiral flutes are designed for boring holes with broken cuts (for example: cross drills). Please use straight-fluted tools for blind holes and spiral fluted tools for through-holes. These tools can also be delivered to the following specifications: left-hand TIN-coated (see page 24) TiCN-coated (according to customer requirements) in metal, wooden or plastic boxes (see page 19 and 21) with flat tang according to DIN 1809 (according to customer requirements) as NC-machine reamer with straight shank diameters (see page 22 and 23) All above-mentioned diameters are available from stock.
