5 Energy Efficiency Energy Efficiency Many Silver Line vinyl windows and patio doors offer energy efficient options such as LoE2 and LoE3 glass and Argon gas, which may allow them to meet ENERGY STAR guidelines, resulting in a more energy efficient, more comfortable home. The ENERGY STAR program was developed by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to help consumers identify products that help save energy and help protect the environment through energy conservation. Single-Hung Window The bottom sash moves up and down and is easily removed from inside the home for simple cleaning. Sliding Window The sliding window offers one or more sash that slide side to side. The sliding sash are easily removed from inside the home for simple cleaning. Casement Window A casement window is hinged on one side to allow the window to swing open.
