Masterpieces by Schubert, Schumann and Beethoven, magnificent string quartets by Ravel and Prokofiev, and our annual June Festival - Mozart and More! - promise to make this season an irresistible musical experience for Winnipeg audiences! We have invited a few very dear and distinguished friends for our 30th year celebrating the great masterworks of the chamber music repertoire - join us to experience the rewards that hearing live performances of great music can bring! 2 CONCERT I: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2016, 7:30 PM HAYDN Trio in C major, Hob XV:27 for piano, violin and cello DOHNANYI Serenade in C major, op. 10 for violin, viola and cello SCHUMANN Quartet in E flat major, op. 47 for piano, violin, viola and cello SCHUMANN Our opening concert will be a very special one: we re-create the inaugural performance of the WCMS, featuring repertoire from our very first concert, held on October 28, 1987! 6 CONCERT V: SUNDAY, APRIL 9, 2017, 7:30 PM Karl Stobbe, violin MOZART Divertimento in B flat major, K254 for violin, cello and piano PROKOFIEV Quartet in F major, op. 92 for two violins, viola and cello DVORÁ ˇ K Quintet in A major, op. 81 for piano, two violins, viola and cello DVORÁ ˇ K We close Part I of our 30th season with sparkling music by Mozart, a masterpiece from Prokofiev, and Dvořák s beloved Piano Quintet!
