2 Website Setup - Introduction Rugby Link Websites are provided by Australian Rugby Union and are available free of charge to any Club/ Association that requests one. Websites are accessed via the Website (SportzVault) tab on the right hand side of your navigation bar when logged into Rugby Link as an administrator. Please note, that you must have the Content Manager user role ticked in order to be able to access and administer the websites (Entity Name> User List> Your Account> Edit> User Roles). NOTE: this self-help guide has been compiled to give Rugby Link users an overview of how to set up their websites. All further support will be provided by the system vendor, InteractSport. If you have any further questions please submit a support ticket. In addition, each page lists a Help on this topic icon: Clicking on this will provide further information on how to use the features of that particular function/ menu. Getting Started Site Layout Manager The Site Layout Manager is your main navigation tool for creating and editing pages. From here you can design your layout templates for your home page and subsequent non-homepages. You can also Preview your website to get an idea of how it will look once published. MODE: Website NAVIGATION: Site Design > Layout Manager

3 Configure Home Page & Non-Home Page Layout Home Page Layout: This controls how the home page appears and what content will be displayed in each area of the page. Non-home Page Layout: This controls how pages other than the home page appear. It is important to note that this template must be set up separately to the home page. For example, if you add a banner to the home page, you must also add the same banner (or a different one if you like) to the non-home template Step 1. Click the Edit link of the template you wish to edit from the Layout Manager page. If this is the first time you have edited the template, the default template will load.

4 Step 2. Save & Preview. Previewing your website will give you an indication of what your website will look like without having to publish it to a live page. This allows you to perfect your website design before it becomes accessible by the public. Step 3. Add Widgets. A widget is something that you can add to your layout which will display various content or information. You can place widgets in certain areas of your website where they will display the content specific to that widget. For example, the Twitter widget will allow you to insert a link to your Twitter feed in that area. Below is a list of available widgets for your website:

5 Step 4. Update Site Styles. Site Design > Layout Manager > Select Edit next to Site Styles This controls the colours and design aspects of the entire website. Here you can update background colours, images and font details. Again, you can save and preview your changes to get an indication of what your website will look like before publishing. Step 5. Publish changes Changes will immediately be available on your website once saved and published. Otherwise you can Preview changes before publishing them to see what it will look like.

6 Default Template: The default template for the websites has been designed to provide a layout that is functional and aesthetic, even before any changes are made or entity specific content is uploaded. This allows users of all levels of website experience to create a functional website, whilst providing the flexibility for more experienced users to create a more advanced design. The image below will provide you with a generalised view of how your website will look before any changes are made. The ARU Facebook, Twitter and YouTube widgets can all be updated to display your Club s social media outlets once you update these details. -Note that the header, footer and top right advertising widget (VIVA7s in image below) is locked for ARU content.

7 Step 6. Additional Configuration Menu Management NAVIGATION: Menu Management > Menu Editor This is where you can customise your website menu and add Custom Menu items, which allows users of the website to access content on the public website. There are two modes; Simple & Advanced. 1. The Simple mode is made up of built in items and can be customised via the Menu Preferences page. 2. The Advanced mode means that the user completely creates the menu and no built in sections are displayed unless specified. Alternatively you can choose to Append Results Vault Tree, which will copy the structure of the Rugby Link menu, including ladders, statistics, matches, and clubs details such as the honour board & office bearers. When you first customise the menu a single item will appear - named Root. This is the top level of the new menu, and all items are created as 'child' items of the Root level. Any changes you make do not take effect until you click the Publish Menu button at the bottom of the screen. Once this is clicked, the new menu is available immediately on the public website. All changes can be abandoned by clicking the Abandon changes button.

8 Creating Content Before you can upload content to your website, you need to load it into the back end of the website- this is creating content. News & Events NAVIGATION: Content > News / Events Items can be created to appear within your News and Event rotators. Once saved, these will be available on your website. HTML Pages NAVIGATION: Content > HTML Pages > General Pages Any number of Html pages can be created and assigned to the menu. Pages can contain as much, or as little content as is necessary, about any topic that makes sense for your club or association to publish. Uploading Files NAVIGATION: Content > File Manager The File Manager screen allows you to upload and manage files and images for use within your website. Google Analytics Integration NAVIGATION: Settings > Google Tracking Code Allows integration with Google Analytics to report on traffic levels for your website. You need to sign up for a Google Analytics account which will provide you with a tracking code. You then insert this code into your settings.

9 Website Domain & DNS Settings Currently all Clubs/ Associations have been given a sportzvault.com domain. This is to allow Clubs to set up their new website without having to first decommission the old website. Once you have purchased a domain (from a domain host such as NetRegistry or GoDaddy) and are ready to attach this to your Rugby Link website, you have 2 options: 1. You manage your own Domain and DNS No annual fee (FREE for ARU entities) This will mean that Clubs/ Associations are responsible for managing both their domain and DNS. Clubs/ Associations will need to ask their domain hosting (GoDaddy, NetRegistry etc) how to access the control panel and add the Interact domain record: - Create a new www CNAME record (this will point to the Interact website hosting and needs to be entered into your registry) with FQDN = cn.sportzvault.com Remember to contact support@interactsport.com once this has been done so that Interact can redirect the host header. Note: if you currently have an existing website that also includes a website service, then you will need to follow the process outlined in Option Interact provide DNS service only No annual fee (FREE for ARU entities) Interact will create, host and maintain the DNS for the Club/ Associations domain. Clubs/ Associations will still be responsible for managing their domain via their Domain Host (this includes registering and paying annual fees for use of the domain name). - The Club/ Association will need to log in to their Domain Host (GoDaddy or NetRegistry etc.) and change the two name servers seen under Domain account manager. These need to be directed towards Interact s name servers: ns1.resultsvault.com and ns2.resultsvault.com *As of 15 December 2015 For further help with websites contact InteractSport Support.
