2 Life Changing Opportunity The Teen Ministry of Open Door Baptist Church, Denham Springs, Louisiana will be taking its first mission trip in late June of 2010 to Monterrey, Mexico. A mission trip can be a life changing event. It exposes believers to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ on a global scale. It gives the opportunity to worship and serve with fellow believers in another country and culture. It creates an attitude of appreciation for the blessings one has at home. It is humbling experience helping others and knowing one may gain and learn as much or more from those on the mission field. We will travel to Monterrey, Mexico and spend several days with veteran Missionaries Sonny and Beverly Fritz. We will attend church services on Sunday morning and evening; and evening services on Monday and Tuesday. We will visit several churches and mission works, meet some missionary families, and do some shopping in a Mexican market. We will hear preaching and singing in Spanish. It will be an exciting time and an opportunity for God to do a great work in our hearts. Missionaries Sonny and Beverly Fritz have served in Mexico for over 40 years. His ministry is responsible for establishing over 58 churches in Mexico and 7 churches in Cuba. They also established the New Life Baptist Seminary. Two of his daughters are married to Missionaries to Mexico. His grandson is also a Mexican missionary. Pastor Dennis Schaffer and Bro. Lamar Powell have both participated in mission trips to Monterrey, Mexico with Missionary Sonny Fritz. Monterrey is the capital city of the northeastern state of Nuevo Leon. It is one of the three most important cities in all of Mexico with a population of over 4 million.

3 Itinerary Friday, June 25 We will meet at ODBC and leave early Friday morning. Travel from Denham Springs to Houston, Texas. Travel from Houston, Texas, to San Antonio, Texas Saturday, June 26 Travel to Laredo, Tx Meet with Bro. Sonny Fritz and cross the border into Mexico Travel to Monterrey, Mexico Sunday, June 27 Attend Sunday services in Monterrey, Mexico Monday, June 28 Tuesday, June 29 Activities in Monterrey, Mexico Attend evening services in Monterrey, Mexico Wednesday, June 30 10:00am Travel to San Antonio, Texas Evening Sightseeing in San Antonio, Texas Thursday, July 1 Six Flags of San Antonio, Texas Friday, July 2 Travel to Denham Springs, LA

4 Special Notes: Cost: $ per person (subject to change depending on church participation) Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 is due Sunday, March 21, 2010, unless you have funds available in your Teen Account (see Mrs. Heather Powell). Cost Includes: Van Rentals and Expenses, Hotel Expense, Housing and Meals while in Mexico, and Six Flag Ticket. Cost does not include meals while traveling, while in Six Flags, or any souvenirs. A continental breakfast will be available at the hotel in San Antonio, Texas. Meals while Traveling: Friday - We will eat lunch in Houston, TX and supper in San Antonio, TX. Saturday We will eat lunch in Laredo, TX Wednesday We will eat lunch in Laredo, TX and supper in San Antonio, TX. Thursday We will eat at Six Flags in San Antonio, TX. Friday We will eat lunch in Houston, TX. Paperwork Requirements: 1. Each person attending will need a valid passport or passport card. 2. Each person will need to bring a valid birth certificate. 3. Each person under 18 will be required to bring a notarized Parental Consent for Unaccompanied Minor form from each parent. If one parent is going on the trip a notarized Affidavit of Other Parental Consent form is required. In the case of deceased or divorced parents: legal proof must be carried to accept just one signature on the letter. This proof (death certificate, proof of sole custody, etc.) can also be shown to a notary who can then notarize an Affidavit of Sole Custody. (see attached forms.) 4. Each person will obtain a Mexico Tourist Visa at the border (included in cost). 5. Any person taking prescription medication must have a valid prescription for that medication. Luggage: Those attending may only bring one suitcase, a sleeping bag, a pillow, and a travel bag. We will not unload luggage from the trailer on Friday evening. Your travel bag should contain your overnight clothes, a change of clothes for travel Saturday, and your toiletries. You will need a sleeping bag and pillow for our stay in Mexico.

5 Dress Code - Females: 1. Bring and wear skirts or dresses while in Mexico Skirts and dresses must be below the knee. 2. Jeans and knee length shorts will be allowed for travel and six flags only. 3. No sleeve less shirts allowed on this trip. Dress Code - Males: 1. We want you to dress nice - no shorts while in Mexico, no t-shirts at the services. 2. Knee length shorts and t-shirts will be allowed for travel and six flags only. 3. No sleeve less shirts allowed on this trip. Other Requirements: 1. Music players of any kind will not allowed on this trip. 2. Potable game systems are allowed on this trip 3. No cell phones will be allowed on this trip. Sponsors will have cell phones. 4. Bring your Bible and your camera. Meals in Mexico: All meals will be prepared especially for us while in Monterrey. Bottled water will be available for drinking and brushing your teeth. Conduct: 1. Each person is expected to conduct themselves in a respectful Christian manner at all times. You are representing Open Door Baptist Church and your Teen Ministry. There will a time for having fun and enjoying one another's company. Recognize and enjoy those times. However, there will be no inappropriate conduct while traveling, in the hotel rooms, or while in Mexico. 2. For safety reasons each person is expected to listen closely to and follow the directions of your leadership at all times. 3. For safety reasons each person will be assigned to small group that will have adult supervision. No one will be allowed to be alone at any time. You will be expected to help look out for one another. 4. While in Mexico remember we are the visitors. 5. Remember...this is a mission trip...not...your vacation. The culture will be different. Things will not always be as comfortable as you expect at home. Be respectful, be thankful, and DO NOT COMPLAIN AT ANYTIME. Remember your safety and comfort is a concern of mine. It is my desire that you learn and gain from this life changing experience. Fund Raisers: Several Fund Raisers are scheduled over the next four months. Participation in these activities will help your child raise most of the funds needed for this trip. These fund raisers include a car wash and jambalaya sale.
