3 15 CONTACT HOURS The New York State Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on Accreditation. In order to receive contact hours participants are required to attend the entire 2-day conference and complete an evaluation. Partial credit will not be awarded. CONTINUING EDUCATION CONTACT HOURS A total of 15 ANCC Credit Hours will be provided for attending the 2-day CCRN/PCCN review program. Certificates of Attendance will be available at the conclusion of the conference. Credits can be applied toward the nursing continuing education requirements of most professional organizations and State Boards of Nursing. This review course will present information and experiences regarding evidence-based best practices. Topics have been chosen first, to insure success on the CCRN/PCCN examinations and secondly, to provide practicing nurses an excellent, overall review so as to update their knowledge and expertise in the management of progressive care and/or critically ill patients. 5 REVIEW COURSE FACULTY Leanna Miller RN, MN, CCRN-CMC, PCCN-CSC, CEN, CNRN, CMSRN, NP Leanna Miller has 30 years of experience in such critical care roles as staff nurse, assistant nurse manager, clinical nurse educator, clinical nurse specialist, and critical care nurse practitioner. She has worked in a variety of critical care and emergency settings including MICU, CCU, Trauma ICU, SICU, Neuro ICU, Cardio-Vascular ICU and ED. She holds a Baccalaureate and Master s degrees in Nursing and has published numerous articles. She also lectures extensively on a variety of critical care topics. Her current position is as an Education Specialist for LRM Consulting in Nashville, TN. Cynthia Bautista, PhD, RN, CNRN, SCRN, CCNS, ACNS-BC Cynthia is a Neuroscience Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT. She received her BSN from Salem State College, her MN from Louisiana State University Medical Center and a PhD in nursing from the University of Rhode Island. She has spoken locally, regionally, and nationally on various neuroscience nursing topics. She has conducted research and has published her work in several journals. Cindy is President of her own company, Nursing Brains, LLC which provides a variety of neuroscience nursing seminars. She has over 30 years of nursing experience. Carol Lynn Esposito, Ed.D., JD, MS, RN Carol Lynn Esposito, Ed.D., JD, MS, RN, is the Director of Nursing Education and Practice for the NY State Nurses Association (NYSNA), the past Director of Labor Education for NYSNA, and an attorney with over 15 years of experience in organizing and educating unionized nurses on how to develop leadership skills, build power in their workplaces, and make real improvements in their living/working conditions. She has authored many articles on such topics as Informed Consent, Malpractice Insurance, Transcultural Nursing, and Nursing Ethics and has developed course and text materials for numerous organizations 5
