Hours are: Monday: 12:00-1:20 pm Tuesday: 1:00-2:00 pm Wednesday: 11:30-12:30 pm We also need volunteers to help run the clubhouse. To sign up to work in the clubhouse contact Monica at monica_lee@knights.ucf.edu Students who help run the store recieve 2 SNA points per shift and 10% off anything in the store!

4 Mark your calendars for the 61st Annual NSNA Convention! The annual event brings together nearly 3,000 students and faculty from all over the country. This year s theme, The HEALTHY Campaign of 2013! represents NSNA s hopes to spread awareness about the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle as future nurses and nursing leaders What: NSNA National Convention When: April 2-7, 2013 Where: Charlotte, NC Who: All UCF SNA members are encouraged to attend! Estimated costs to attend: Convention registration: $110 Hotel: rooms are approx. $150/night, and we will be staying 5 nights. Rooms will be shared with 4 students to keep costs low. (Approx. $200) Students are responsible for their own food Also, we will be funraising to try to lower the costs further! National Convention- April 2nd-7th ***We must have a final and definitive roster of who will be attending by February 25th! Junior Treasurer Election will be held February 25 President Elect: A junior student, in charge of fundraising, learning the president position Election will be held in September The general election for all other positions will be held at the SNA meeting in April President: Runs all SNA and board meetings, creates agendas, delegates Vice President: responsible for programming, getting gifts for speakers and food for meetings Secretary: Takes minutes during all organization correspondence Treasurer: responsible for the bank account and acts as the membership chair PR: organzes the UCF SNA Clubhouse, writes an annual article, contributes to the newsletter, acts as liason to SGA and Med PACt, creates and maintains the UCF SNA website and facebook Break-through-to-Nursing: Organizes a comittee which includes the liason from Accels and Juniors Community Health: organizes a comittee Legislative Director: Coordinates NEC, lobby days, convention, resolutions and acts as Liaison to Curriculum Historian: Coordinates class pictures, makes class scrapbooks for the organization and senior class Lifeline Newsletter Editor: Creates newsletters every month If you are interested in running please contact Chelsey Tuell at ctuell@knights.ucf.edu

5 Ronald McDonald House Article written by: Dr. Linda Howe Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida (RMHCCF) finds, creates and supports programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families. Their cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House (RMH), provides a home-away-from-home that offers comfort and care to families of children being treated at local hospitals and medical facilities. There are two Ronald McDonald House locations in Orlando; one is located on the campus of Florida Hospital for Children and the other is on the campus of Arnold Palmer Medical Center. Did you know? There are currently 322 Ronald McDonald s Houses in 52 countries and regions. Ronald McDonald s Houses provide over 7,200 bedrooms to families around the world each night, with an estimated value of $257 million in lieu of hotel costs. There are currently 43 Ronald McDonald s Care Mobiles in 6 countries. Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles are mobile clinics that offer affordable health care for children in their own neighborhoods. The program serves more than 100,000 children a year, and saves families in the U.S. $10 million in medical and dental costs each year. UCF-SNA is proud to support the Ronald McDonald House mission through volunteer hours each month and collecting pop tabs! What our pop tabs do: Through the RMHC Pop Tab Collection Program, to date more than $4 million has been generated. By collecting soda pop tabs from aluminum cans and donating them to their local RMHC Chapter or Ronald McDonald s House they can use the money received from recycling the tabs to help offset operational expenses or to sponsor or support programs. Nursing Christian Fellowship Nurses Christian Fellowship is both a professional organization and a ministry for nurses, nursing students and faculty. NCF is a ministry of InterVartsity Christian Fellowship. The Purpose of Nurses Christian Fellowship, as a ministry of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, is to establish and advance in nursing, within education and practice, witnessing communities of nursing students and nurses who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God s Word, God s people of every ethnicity and culture and God s purposes in the world. NCF will hold weekly prayer meetings with groups for each class of students (Juniors, Accesl, Seniors) in order to best accomodate those specific schedules. NCF will also hood month large group meetings to fellowship and build community between the students in all the calsses. NCF also encourages members to attend weekly InterVarsity meetings on the main UCF campus. All Juniors, Seniors, Accels, Graduates and Faculty are welcome to attend!
