2 TEAM & PROGRAM SUMMARY.. FIRST Robotics Competition is a program run by an organization named FIRST ( F or the I nspiration and R ecognition of S cience and T echnology). Students work with professionals in their area to build and compete with a robot in tasks identified by FIRST. Each team has 6 weeks to design, build, and tests their robots before they head out to competitions around the country. The Menomonee Falls High School FIRST Robotics Competition Team was founded in 2015 by Bob Townsend, Math & Engineering instructor, and Bret Warner, Technology Education instructor at Menomonee Falls High School in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. TEAM IMPACT... The goal of our Robotics Team is to ready our students for careers in Manufacturing and STEM related fields. FRC gives students the opportunity to expand their horizons and experiences. FRC will teach them how to work as a group towards a common goal and how to cooperate with a team, much the same way that athletics does for other students. These experiences will also broaden the students understanding of careers available to them at either at a 4-year college, a technical college, or directly into the workforce. 2

4 MENTORS NEEDED.. Mentor Role: CAD / 3D Modeling Marketing **Prototyping** Writing **Electrical** Finance **Programming** Graphic Design Public Speaking **Engineering Design** **Mechanical** Social Media Website Role Description: Teach students on the team how design parts for the robot (most students are proficient with Autodesk Inventor) Assist with team marketing & creating a team business plan Assist with the design of the robot and teach the students how to create basic prototypes Assist the Marketing & award Sub-Teams with team award submissions Show students how to wire, organize an electrical board, & update and check the robot Help students manage team funds and assist with fundraising Work with the students to program the robot for competition Create banners, logos, team handouts, and t-shirts for competitions Teach the students how to speak in front of potential sponsors and judges Work with the team to pick a strategy, design a robot, and manage robot creation Help students build a robot for competition in March Work with students to set up and manage social media sites Teach students how to build and manage a website ** Denotes a mentor that is essential for the team to be successful** 4

5 TEAM FUNDRAISING.. Currently we are in the process of submitting multiple grants to fund the team in our initial year. We are reaching out to local business partners in the manufacturing industry to evaluate potential interest in partnering with Menomonee Falls High School. We are in need of corporate sponsors, engineers and other business professionals that would serve as mentors to the team, and other resources such as the use of advanced manufacturing equipment to create parts for our competition robot. The grants that we are submitting are not guaranteed funds and if we are successful and obtain all of them we still will be short of the funds we need to complete a FIRST Robotic Competition season. 5

7 SPONSORSHIP.. Platinum Sponsor This title is given to sponsors who give $3,000 and up, or the equivalent in parts and services, to the team. Platinum level sponsors receive their company name as part of the official team name of the Menomonee Falls FIRST Robotics Team as announced at events. They also get a large logo on the robot and the back of the team shirt. They receive a team photo. Their logo also will be displayed on the team website. Gold This title is given to sponsors who give $1,500 - $2,999, or the equivalent in parts and services, to the team. Gold level sponsors have a large logo displayed on the back of the team shirt. They receive a team shirt and their logo will also be displayed on the team website. Silver This title is given to sponsors who give $750 - $1,499, or the equivalent in parts and services, to the team. Silver level sponsors have a small logo displayed on the back of the team shirt and a large logo on the robot. They receive a team shirt and their logo will also be displayed on the team website. Bronze This title is given to sponsors who give $1 - $749, or the equivalent in parts and services, to the team. Bronze level sponsors get a large logo on the robot and their logo will also be displayed on the team website. 7
