4 An outstanding start to your child s learning journey Our Reception classes work closely together to deliver a range of stimulating activities and learning opportunities to ensure that all children get the best possible start to their school career. The transition process from pre-school to school is carefully structured to help children settle in as quickly as possible.

Helping children to develop into happy, responsible citizens, able to make a positive contribution to our world, is at the heart of our work. We actively listen to the voices of parents and children.

8 A nurturing and stimulating environment that supports and celebrates learning We believe that the key ingredients for successful learning are creativity, a positive atmosphere, enabling environments and quality-first teaching. At Buckingham Park we provide a curriculum that is creative. Teaching provides learning experiences that are engaging, exciting and enjoyable. This enables children to become creative and independent thinkers and learners, sowing the seeds for a lifelong love of learning. We offer learning support for those who find academic subjects more tricky and challenges for students who are ready to fly. We praise effort and recognise and reward the achievements made by all children.

11 Going the extra mile with great things to do The children at Buckingham Park enjoy exciting activities to make sure that their school life is truly memorable. Our curriculum is enhanced by regular trips out to the theatre, museums, farms and other places of interest and we welcome visitors into school to further enrich learning. There is a wide variety of activities on offer that extends the curriculum. Alongside a range of sports and musical instrument tuition, there is a rolling programme of after-school clubs which provide children with the opportunity to try a wide variety of unusual activities. These have recently included such diverse things as maypole dancing, clay modelling, and felt craft. We are able to offer wrap-around childcare from 8 am until 5 pm.
