1 2016 Important Designer Information & Dates to Remember Friday, August 5 All Designer Contracts Due Mail contracts to: Pat Wohlford, 5102 Crow Creek Rd, Bettendorf, IA Wednesday, September 6 Friday, October 28 Tree pick-up at Bonnett Wholesale Florist: 119 East 8 th Street Milan, IL Trees are available for pick up ONLY on Tues., Wed., & Thurs. between 9 am 4 pm Pre-lit trees are not available for pick up unless payment of $75 has been sent and received by Festival of Trees. All other trees are reserved at Bonnett s in the name of the lead designer listed on the signed, submitted agreement. Call Pat Wohlford, Designer Recruitment Manager or Saturday, November 12 Monday, November 14 **NOTE DATE CHANGE FROM PREVIOUS YEARS** Designers Set-Up: RiverCenter (South) rd Street Davenport, IA Saturday, Nov. 12, 9 am 9 pm ROOM DESIGNERS ONLY - NO EXCEPTIONS Sunday, Nov. 13, 8 am 9 pm All Designers (*If you have decorated your tree in advance, please deliver it to the RiverCenter during this time. This allows enough time for completion of your tree setting.) Monday, Nov. 14, 8 am 4 pm All Designers. MUST be finished by 4 pm. Any entry not completed by 4 pm will not be judged. Check In: We encourage you to come early with your design. Upon arrival, go to the RiverCenter loading dock on Pershing between 2 nd and 3 rd St. for check-in and floor location. Dock space is limited, so please be timely with your unloading. FOOD WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR DESIGNERS ONLY. Tuesday, November 15 Design judging. Any entry not completed by 4 pm on November 16 will not be judged. Friday, November 18 Sunday, November 27 Festival of Trees opens to the public: RiverCenter 136 E. 3 rd Street Davenport, IA For general admission hours & special events visit or call to ask for a brochure. Friday, November 18 Grand Premiere Party: 6:30 pm 10:00 pm RiverCenter (South) Great Hall 136 E. 3 rd Street, Davenport, IA Sunday, November 27 Designer Tear-Down: 4 pm 7 pm RiverCenter (South) Great Hall 136 E. 3 rd Street, Davenport, IA Designer Set-up Days at the RiverCenter Important: Only authorized decorators and personnel will be allowed on the Festival site Food will be available for designers only No children during set-up, please We encourage you to come early with your decorations, equipment, tree skirt/drape and boxes Check in and find your assigned space on the floor and begin decorating Items to bring for set-up: Heavy-duty extension cords (12') Wire matching the color of your tree Box(es) for the skirt, drape, tree topper and decorations displayed under the tree, clearly labeled with your name, title of tree and floor number. If you have gift certificates please give them to a committee member to be put in safe keeping until given to the purchaser of your tree Glue, glue sticks, glue guns and extension cords for them Tape Needle-nose pliers Wire cutters Scissors Stapler Ladder reaching the height of your tree Extra tree lights/bulbs

For special requests, please contact Pat Wohlford (563) or Megan Schoff (309) ext Designer Guidelines & Compensations Festival of Trees is an important fundraiser for Quad City Arts, therefore we advise when considering designing in more than one area that designs be limited to one (1) per category with a limit of two (2) designs total. This allows you to budget time and money to best help Festival of Trees raise funds to continue valuable programming. If you have questions please contact Pat Wohlford at or Megan Schoff (309) ext Compensation for designers has been changed to reflect a better balance with the current economic climate and to be fair to all levels of design regarding the labor and contribution of designers. Tix 5 per design team 10 per design team 10 per design team 10 per design team 15 per design team Designer Passes 1 per design team 2 per design team 2 per design team 2 per design team 4 per design team Judging Criteria & Awards 2016 Theme: "Bells Will Be Ringing Designer s Choice Designers will vote for the design they like best and one ribbon will be awarded to each of the design areas. Voting will be from 12:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, and during the Grand Premiere Party, on Friday, Nov. 18 until 9 pm. Ballots will be in Designer Check-In Packets. Place ballots in ballot box at the Information/Sales Desk.

3 Design Value Worksheet Important - This worksheet helps Quad City Arts Festival of Trees set a price for the value of your design. Please turn this form in so that we may price your design fairly. Deadline to Return Form: NO LATER THAN Monday, November 14 Return Form to: Pat Wohlford, 5102 Crow Creek Road, Bettendorf, IA Fax: (563) Worksheet may also be handed to Pat during Designer Set-up Days Designer Name: Choose Type of Design (check all that apply): Tree / List Title: Tree in Room / List Title: Holiday Entry / List Title: Hearth & Home / List Title: Door / List Title: List the Total Retail Costs of Your Ornamentation Please list the total cost of all the ornamentation you have purchased for your design, lights, ornaments etc. below If you purchased items at wholesale prices multiply the amount you spent x 2 If you purchased items on sale, list the original retail price If your designs ornamentation is handmade, equate the retail price they would sell for at a craft fair 1. $ List the Retail Price of Your UNDECORATED TREE If you received a tree from Festival, list the price as: $50 for a 4.5 ft. tree & $100 for a larger tree If you purchased your own tree, list the retail price, or multiply the wholesale price x 2. If you created your own tree, list the price it would sell for at a craft fair If you purchased the tree on sale, list the original retail price. 2. $ List Additional Items Under Your Tree or Included in Your Display that are of Value (i.e. gift certificates, and or trips, please include the retail value of these items below) 3. $ DO NOT include a value for your time spent on decorating the tree. 5 Designer Reimbursement Form Designer Reimbursement Form A reimbursement of up to $100 for designer expenses for Rooms, Trees, Hearth and Home and Holiday Entries may be requested by submitting this reimbursement form with receipts before December 1, No exceptions after this date. Designer costs are tax deductible and Festival is pleased to sign the charitable contribution form, which is included in this packet. For your personal tax purposes, you may have a Festival representative sign this form during Set-Up or send this form (& a self-addressed & stamped envelope) for signature to: Quad City Arts, Festival of Trees nd Ave Rock Island, Illinois It is advisable to keep your receipts for your own accounting purposes. Note: If you have chosen to utilize the Designer Reimbursement Form, you must deduct $100 from your Charitable Contribution Form. (i.e. If your design expenses total $400 and you have chosen to utilize the $100 reimbursement offered, you must subtract the $100 reimbursement so that your total charitable contribution is $300).
