2 140 Years of Heritage Our History In 1870, on the olive tree -rich, Greek island of Lesvos, Dimitris Papoutsanis set out to build the first steam engine powered olive oil pressing factory. That factory wasn t made just to produce olive oil of the finest quality... A small portion of this humble yet precious ingredient, was saved to produce pure olive oil soap that was second to none. This marked the birth of a Company with a history of more than 140 years... In 1913 the production facilities were transferred to Piraeus where the first production-line bar soaps where made. The company s expansion in 1972 and its enlisting in the Athens Stock Exchange where it still is, saw its plant moving once more, this time in the Northern suburbs of Athens. and the largest hotel amenities provider in Greece. In February 2001, Papoutsanis continuous growth brought the opening of its newest, state of the art, factory near Athens...The largest soap production plant in Eastern Europe 2

From our raw materials which we purchase from internationally known manufactures and test, prior to use, by our Quality Control Lab, to the continuous training of our qualified and dedicated staff, we make sure nothing is left unchecked. With our up to date equipment for testing liquids and barsoaps by our Micro Lab s specialized analysts and by implementing all the ISO 9001:2008 guidelines, we have created a Quality Assurance and Quality Management System, second to none. This ensures that, both Bulk product and Finished product is microbiologically tested for contamination, when appropriate, prior to approval for sale andthat manufacture and packaging are meticulously controlled and inspected fully in line with Good Manufacturing Practices - GMP. 4

The Research & Development department is the force behind the Company s innovations. Whether it s a new product request from one of its customers or from in-house, it can bring to life the whole of the requested new product/formulae portfolio. With its pilot scale processing plant for soap bars and liquid cosmetics manufacturing, our R&D is able toperfect new formulas and product making processes, so they can be smoothly introduced to full scale production at Papoutsanis plant. 6

8 Production The Facilities Extended over a 60,000m 2 land in Halkida, just 70 km northern from Athens, Papoutsanisboasts one of the largest soap manufacturing sites in Europe. Comprisedof two state of the art plants, spreading out in 11,500m 2 and a 1.000m 2 office space, its production includes soap noodles and soap bars, liquid soaps, shower gel, bath foams and beauty creams, The production facilities cater for Papoutsanisown brands, its private label customers, as well as the hotel amenities market. Plant Capabilities and Capacity The advanced technological equipment found inside Papoutsanis Facilities, extends the plant s capabilities to a variety of production lines and packaging sizes and at the same time it increases its production capacity. Production Lines: Continuous and batch saponification Unit Bar soap production (tallow, vegetable, translucent and pure olive oil soap noodles.) Liquid Cosmetics production (Liquid soaps, shower gels, shampoos, body milks and conditioners) Bottling Pet Bottles & PP Cups Production Digital Printing of labels. 8
