10 Apprenticeships The School of ACBE offers a wide range of Apprenticeships. An Apprenticeship framework comprises a Technical Certificate or Diploma and NVQ (work based assessment), and Functional Skills Maths and English. Where there is an option to enrol on a Level 2 framework, learners will be required to complete this before progressing to the Level 3 framework. Following successful completion at Level 3 we also offer the opportunity for progression to Higher Apprenticeships at Level 4 (in Construction Management, Conservation and Engineering and Environmental Technologies) or part time Higher Education courses including the HNC in Construction or Foundation Degree in Sustainable Resource Management. How would employing an apprentice benefit your company? Apprentices can gain knowledge and skills that enable your business to work better and more effieciently. They can strengthen your bottom line by improving productivity and enabling you to be more competitive. They can fill any skills gaps in your workforce, often introducing new techniques and technology to increase productivity. Apprenticeships can attract higher calibre staff and lead to a more motivated and committed workforce who stay longer, cutting recruitment and training costs. Apprentices who start their working life with a company can be trained to embrace the company culture and tend to have a higher commitment to the overall objectives. Introducing young, enthusiastic apprentices into the company can have a positive effect on the business, encouraging a culture of learning. 96% of businesses which have taken on an apprentice believe their company has benefitted*. *Source: To find out more about Apprenticeships at Petroc call or apprenticeships@petroc.ac.uk
