For example, the inkjet coating of a transparency has to absorb ink, whereas laser printers and copiers apply and fix the toner with heat and pressure. Only by using coatings specially designed for inkjet or laser technology perfect results be achieved pictures and pin sharp visuals. Inkjet transparencies are generally coated. Laser and copier transparencies are either coated or uncoated. Whilst uncoated transparencies simply appear more transparent, coated transparencies are the better solution regarding feed, pass-through characteristics, antistatic capabilities, density and toner adherence. All inkjet transparencies, all laser and copier transparencies with sensor strip or backing paper. All laser and copier transparencies without sensor strip or backing paper. There are transparencies with thicknesses between 0.1 mm and 0.2 mm depending on application and printer. The general rule is "the thicker a transparency is, the higher its quality". Thicker transparencies are also more resistant to heat (see "Heat resistance"). Virtually all transparencies can be fed in a stack into the printer. I.e. they can be placed in the feed tray of your printer and do not have to be be inserted individually. All Avery Zweckform transparencies are made of polyester and thus are extremely heat resistant. Laser printers and copiers fix the toner at about C. The melting point of polyester is around 267 C. Our transparencies therefore feature absolute reliability. Avery Zweckform also offers transparencies with increased thickness that are also extremely heat resistant and are suitable for printers that fix the toner in the upper temperature range (such as HP printers). Printers with an optical pass-through control only identify the material to be printed on when it is not transparent. Transparent printing material can not be fed in. It is for this reason that there are transparencies with a white sensor strip that can be removed after printing. The sensor strip is either on the short side (particular for printers) or on long side (particularly for copiers) depending on how the printer feeds in the printing material. with backing paper are alternatives to transparencies with a sensor strip. Both transparency versions can be used for printers with an optical pass-through control and are available as two variants (glued top edge or side edge). The "high colour brilliance" product feature (see Page 146) stands for photorealistic printouts, brilliant colour reproduction, highest resolution and fast colour absorption. Quattro Clean is a technology that prevents the glue of self-adhesive materials leaking and dirtying the printer (see Page 146). material can become statically charged.
