2 Purpose The Statewide Program Manager Clinical Education & training Nutrition & Dietetics will: The Statewide Clinical Education and Training Program Manager has three areas of work, all of which aim to enable Queensland Health staff to provide safe, sustainable and contemporary healthcare: (i) To lead and coordinate the design, development, implementation and evaluation of statewide clinical education and training for the Nutrition and Dietetics workforce and Nutrition and Dietetics students. (ii) To lead and coordinate the design, development, implementation and evaluation of an across profession / interprofessional portfolio across all Statewide Clinical Education Program Managers and other ClinEdQ staff. (iii) To lead and coordinate the implementation and evaluation of statewide models of care across Nutrition & Dietetics. (iv) To lead projects aligned with Statewide Allied Health Strategies and initiatives for Nutrition & Dietetics Your key responsibilities You will fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with the Children s Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service core values, as outlined below. Clinical Practice Apply high level clinical and educational knowledge, skills and expertise across multiple clinical areas and work settings, in the planning and implementation of statewide programs for clinical education and training and implementing evidence based models of care for Nutrition and Dietetics as well as allied health. Maintain and apply high level knowledge of evidence based contemporary clinical practice, professional standards, professional development and education strategies. Maintain and apply well developed knowledge of evidence informed education strategies, clinical practice, professional standards and professional development programs to facilitate the provision of expert advice to statewide internal and external stakeholders. Communication / Team Participation Apply expert level communication and negotiation skills to advocate for the profession and allied health. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximise engagement, capacity building, effective implementation, and sustainability of initiatives. Build and actively participate in complex professional teams of both internal and external stakeholders within a national and state environment, and work collaboratively and respectfully with these groups Leadership / Service Improvement Lead professional teams and initiatives that progress innovation and debate on clinical education and training within Nutrition and Dietetics and Allied Health at a statewide and where appropriate, national level. Identity and lead the integration of national and international research trends and developments that could be beneficially applied to Nutrition and Dietetics clinical practice, education and training and applied inter-professionally. Apply high level management skills to manage the program, the people, service improvement initiatives and resources with the aim of ensuring quality and sustainability of initiatives. Provide leadership in the strategic direction of Nutrition and Dietetics clinical educators, ensuring alignment with Queensland Health and Clinical Education and Training Queensland strategic directions.

3 Provide expert level strategic planning and professional leadership in the identification, development, implementation and review of statewide evidence based models of care and in the design, development, implementation and review of clinical education and training initiatives for the Queensland Health Nutrition and Dietetics workforce and Nutrition and Dietetics students. Contribute to HHS and statewide nutrition and dietetic services development through participation in relevant projects, committees and clinical networks. Develop a positive culture within the Division which encourages and recognises high performance, builds leadership capabilities and supports staff to maximise their health and wellbeing. Position Reports To The Statewide Program Manager Clinical Education & training Nutrition & Dietetics: Reports directly to Director, Dietetics and Food Services Reports to the Team Leader, Allied Health Profession s Office of Queensland for professional issues. Staffing and Budgetary Responsibilities The Statewide Program Manager Clinical Education & training Nutrition & Dietetic: Will have line management responsibility as per the attached organisational structure; While the position has no financial delegations, the incumbent will work within the budget allocation for clinical education and training for Nutrition and Dietetics and any interprofessional strategies as required and provide advice on ongoing funding needs within the annual budgeting process. Qualifications/ Professional registration/ Other requirements Mandatory possession of a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics as recognised by the Dieticians Association of Australia. Advanced APD status and relevant post graduate qualifications are highly desirable. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/ manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties. Are you the right person for the job? Within the context of the responsibilities described above, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following: Clinical Expertise Demonstrated high level expertise, skill and knowledge in evidence-based contemporary clinical practice, professional standards and professional development programs in Nutrition and Dietetics. Demonstrated high level expertise, skill and knowledge in professional education and practice related to health / social care professions in health and/or education sectors. Communication Demonstrated expert ability to advocate for the profession and effectively communicate, engage and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, providing authoritative advice regarding the development of statewide professional initiatives. Leadership Skills Demonstrated expert level ability to develop and implement strategic direction, as part of a team, and lead change in the development of clinical models of care and clinical education and training for the Nutrition and Dietetics workforce and Nutrition and Dietetics students statewide level, in line with statewide priorities and current evidence.

4 Demonstrated ability to identify, facilitate and lead statewide and inter-professional models of care and clinical education and training initiatives. High level ability to lead and manage the program, the people, service improvement initiatives and resources in line with quality human and resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour. Additional Information for Applicants All relevant health professionals (including registered nurses and medical officers) who in the course of their duties formulate a reasonable suspicion that a child or youth has been abused or neglected in their home/community environment, have a legislative and a duty of care obligation to immediately report such concerns to Child Safety Services, Department of Communities. Pre-employment screening, including criminal history and disciplinary history checks, may be undertaken on persons recommended for employment. Roles providing health, counselling and support services mainly to children will require a Blue Card. A minimum probation period of three (3) months may apply for permanent appointments. All newly appointed applicants who have been employed as a lobbyist in the previous two (2) years are required to provide a disclosure to the Director-General within one (1) month of taking up the appointment in accordance with the Disclosure of Previous Employment as a Lobbyist policy. Travel may be a requirement.
