Registered charity no Hosting an Elf day is a great way to celebrate the festive season at your school, nursery or youth group and raise vital funds for Alzheimer s Society. It s easy to take part whether you go all out and dress up in festive attire, or simply bake some delicious Christmassy treats there s plenty of ideas in this pack to help make sure your Elf Day s a success! And don t forget, if you have any questions or need any help at all, just call or elfday@alzheimers.org.uk What s in this pack? Elf Day poster Make sure you advertise your event and get everyone involved. (We ve left a space at the bottom of the poster for you to write the date of your Elf Day). Guess the Name of the Elf poster Charge 1 for people to guess the name of the Elf. (All you need is a small prize for the winner and donate the money raised to Alzheimer s Society). Chief Elf badge You ve done the hard work setting up your Elf Day, now it s time to get some praise. Wear your badge with pride, knowing you are doing your part to help people affected by dementia. Take part in Dress as an elf and donate to Alzheimer s Society to help defeat dementia What s my name? Guess it right to win a prize! Donate 1 to guess the name of the Elf. We have a range of resources online to help you with your fundraising, including: Elf Day bunting Elf masks Elf the Teacher poster collect donations and get your teacher to dress up as an elf! Elf quiz sheet Visit alzheimers.org.uk/elfday Elf the Teacher er (Stick a photo of your teacher here) For just 1 you can help reach the target and get your teacher to dress up as an elf! What should I do on Elf Day? Dress like elves! Get creative and encourage your class to dress as elves (or other festive characters) and donate 1 each to Alzheimer s Society. Use our videos to create your own Elf hat and download and colour in our Elf mask at alzheimers.org.uk/elfday Elf Olympics How quickly can your class decorate a Christmas tree? Who can wrap a present the quickest? Or who can create the longest paper chain in 10 minutes? These are just a few suggestions to get the class in the festive spirit Colour the candy-cane as you reach your target Instructions 1 Print out on thick paper. 2 Colour the mask. 3 Carefully cut-out the mask including holes for the eyes. 4 Gently punch out the orange holes either side of the mask and add some elastic string. Secure the string with clear tape. 5 Alternatively attach to a lolly stick or pipe cleaner. 4 Christmas collection If your school or nursery has a nativity play or Christmas concert, then get in touch with Team Elf and we can send you buckets for a retiring collection at the end of the performance. Coin trail to Santa s grotto Urge everyone (teachers included) to bring in and donate all of their loose change to make a trail of coins around the school leading to Santa s grotto! At the end of the day you will need to gather together a team of Santa s little helper s to collect and count all of the coins. Crafty at Christmas Organise a crafty Christmas fair selling seasonal goodies made by the pupils this could be anything from baubles to gingerbread men. For more inspiration, head to our website alzheimers.org.uk/elfday Guess the little angel Ask all of the teachers to bring in a festive photo of them as a tot and then get the pupils to guess who s who for a 1 donation.
