2 GFP Antibodies Green fluorescence protein (GFP) is a 7 kda protein derived from jellyfish Aequorea Victoria. Generally, this protein emits green light (emission peak at a wavelength of 509 nm) when excited by blue light (excitation peak at a wavelength of 95 nm). It has become a very useful tool and versatile marker to report gene expression, trace cell lineage, monitor physiological processes and visualize subcellular protein localizations. Recently, GenScript has developed five anti-gfp antibodies which include one monoclonal antibody from mouse and four polyclonal antibodies from rabbit, chicken and goat respectively. All these antibodies are raised against full-length GFP protein and purified by immunoaffinity chromatography. Anti-GFP antibodies are widely used for various applications, such as immunoprecipitation, Western blot, immunocytochemical localization, flow cytometry and immunosorbent assays (Table ). I. Enhanced Specificity GenScript offers five optimized anti-gfp antibodies with superior specificity against GFP or GFP-s. Improved Sensitivity We recently compare our anti-gfp antibodies against several major competitive products from two famous manufacturers, to see the sensitivity to recognize target proteins. The antibodies were tested side by side with the same quantity gradient antigens and under the same conditions (Figure -, -). The comparison reveals that GenScript s anti-gfp antibodies provide better sensitivity than that of the others. The further experiment on the sensitivity test shows that both the anti-gfp antibodies (Chicken, and Goat, ) can allow for chemiluminescent detection of nanogram and even picogram levels of GFP or GFP-s.
