Presentation of the equipment The educational equipment TGBT CAP (Low Voltage General Cabinet for professional school) is an electrical connection cabinet designed for studying electrical cabling, carrying out measurements and learning how to replace components. 1.1 Overview This equipment is made of a cabinet containing: A frame type Prisma Plus, Two compartments fitted with doors. The left compartment is equipped with a glazed door allowing to see the electrical parts. The right compartment is equipped with a metal door. 3/17

Rated surge withstand voltage: 2.5 kv Electric shock protection class: I (according to standard IE ) Installation class: III Measuring class: I (according to standard IE ) Technical data of the main components Electrical components are installed inside the metal cabinet. Part of them are on the left front panel: The four pole power circuit breaker type TM 160 D 70KA fitted with an undervoltage coil and an auxiliary contact; followed downstream by a four pole master switch 160A. A row of circuit breakers provides protections for emergency stop buttons, measuring apparatus PM700, plugs powered by isolation transformer and control circuit. 4/17

5 The two next rows include protections for six outputs, single-phase 16A, three-phase 63A with neutral, three-phase 32A with neutral, single-phase 10A, three-phase 50A with neutral and three-phase 32A. Each output is fitted with a differential protective device (VIGI block 30mA) and a double additive contact "SD + OF" (On Trigger and Open / Closed). Part of electrical components are installed on the right front panel (from top to bottom): The "Power on" white indicator light gives the same information as the white beacon. It is illuminated when the cabinet is connected to power supply. The measuring equipment PM700 and the current transformers installed on the four pole busbars are used to perform measurements of current, voltage, power and other quantities. 6 Six groups of illuminated push-buttons (green and red) are used for switching "on" or "off" the six user outputs. A mushroom emergency stop button that can be locked and reset. On the back left side of the cabinet: Two transformers are installed at the bottom of the compartment. A transformer 400V - 24 V 400VA to supply the control circuit. The source 24VAC is also available on the terminal board X4. A transformer 400V V 2500VA to supply the two mains plugs (one plug on the front panel and one in the rear compartment of the cabinet). 6/17

7 On the back right side of the cabinet: A set of four pole busbars downstream the master switch supply the three phases and neutral to the outputs. At the top of the compartment, a safety switch switches on the orange beacon when the back door is open. This is used to signal a potential danger. The doors of the cabinet can be locked, except the glazed door. It is possible to open only the glazed door. 7/17

9 1.3 Main functions The educational equipment is an electrical connection cabinet designed for supplying six independent outputs in a workshop. It can be used to perform the following exercises: Electrical cabling exercises Electrical accreditation exercises with operation on busbars. Electrical measurements: Current. Phase-to-ground and phase-to-phase voltage. Active, reactive or apparent power. Power factor. Active, reactive or apparent energy. Layout In workshop, the TGBT CAP cabinet (Low Voltage General Cabinet for professional school) will be used to supply all or part of the educational equipment, that is: The separate systems. The operation area (3D cell). The electrical panels. A lighting area. The cabling equipment in cabinet. The "study" area with micro-computers. 9/17

10 2. Teaching 2.1 Presentation of teaching The aim of this equipment is to study electrical cabling and measures and to learn how to replace components. The subjects that can be handled are: Study and implementation of electrical connection and cabling. Mechanical design. Components replacement. Monitoring and control of electrical connection, use of the measuring equipment PM700. Industrial type measurement. Practical instruction for electrical accreditation. Maintenance.
