Added value for civil engineers and building contractors: Innovative reinforcement and load transmission solutions. More performance. More value. 1
Customer-centric, innovative, competent, safe Dear Customer What in your opinion is the most important aspect of our activities, our products, our services? That you can rely on them during every phase of your project from the concept to the design, and right up to installation? That with them you can realise straightforward, safe and qualitatively superior solutions? That our highly qualified Engineering Services and Sales specialists are available to provide competent and intensive support during your own projects? That you can access our unique design software and dedicated product information through a diversity of sources such as the Aschwanden website and app? We believe it is the integration of all these factors that allows us to generate real benefits and measurable added value for our customers. Our employees derive considerable professional satisfaction from maintaining and enhancing that level of service and support on a daily basis permanently striving to create optimal solutions to your engineering challenges. Whether you are a civil engineer, structural physicist or building contractor our customercentric business model is totally focused on your specific and individual requirements. We see this as a key factor in allowing us to selectively develop and refine our products while creating further innovations that are establishing new engineering benchmarks in reinforced concrete structures. This is being achieved via a manufacturing process oriented towards quality, safety and productivity that fully integrates the wealth of expertise and experience gained during our now over 65-year-old company tradition. Direct contacts with you and your company are an essential aspect of understanding your technical requirements. These in turn allow us to collaborate with you to generate the best possible solutions to your structural challenges. Our Aschwanden Campus, where not only our own specialists undergo advanced training, plays a key role in achieving that aim. You too can simply login online at any time to learn about our latest technical developments. Our training seminars, where the lecturers are acknowledged specialists in their field, are also open to you as an Aschwanden customer. They are a great opportunity to gain concentrated specialist knowledge. We cannot predict the future. But we are doing our utmost to ensure that we are well equipped to meet your future requirements and to help you face future structural challenges. Alex P. Frei Managing Director, F. J. Aschwanden AG 2 3
Aschwanden for you. For good reasons. We have a clear focus. Our core competence is reinforcement and load transmission in reinforced concrete structures. This is a specialist field where Aschwanden has extensive expertise and in-depth technical know-how. We develop innovative products and outstanding solutions that have been repeatedly verified by internationally recognised and independent testing institutes. Aschwanden establishes industry benchmarks designed to match the most demanding requirements of our customers. Complemented by an exclusive range of value-adding customer services and benefits. 4 5
Innovations for you. And with you. To us, an innovation is only then a viable one if you are able to use it successfully in your daily work routines. We integrate civil engineers, project planners and building contractors directly into our innovation processes. In the development of completely new products and when consistently enhancing existing ones, we collaborate closely on an interdisciplinary basis with recognised specialists in their respective fields. 6 7
Bundled competence. At the highest level. F.J. Aschwanden AG the name stands for superior products and solutions in civil and structural engineering solutions. For structural safety, serviceability and building physics. With our modern, effective infrastructure combined with a rigorous quality control system, we ensure the highest levels of safety. We also generate first-rate customer benefits and sustainable added value. Our employees undergo regular skills updates and enjoy opportunities for their own career development. Additionally, the Aschwanden Campus provides an excellent platform for knowledge transfer to our customers. 8 9
Exclusive services. Individual support. Our approach to challenges is flexible and solution-oriented, making your job as straight forward as possible from the project concept to the execution. You will be supported personally and comprehensively by specialists from our Engineering Services and Sales teams. Using our unique design software and the mobile app you will save both time and money. And the safety levels of your projects will be enhanced by all the required verifications of structural safety. All this, plus the assurance of smooth progress in the building process
Efficient maintenance: RINO RINO is an innovative system for the retroactive strengthening of existing structures such as slabs and columns. In the repair sector, the product line offers decisive benefits in the maintenance and strengthening of concrete structures. The system currently comprises: RINO Exo for increasing punching shear strength in existing slabs; RINO Flex featuring steel laminate for enhancing the flexural strength of slabs; RINO Axial for strengthening existing columns. Aschwanden a unique product range
Relaxing quiet: SILENT Aschwanden has created groundbreaking innovations for the efficient acoustic decoupling of various building elements. The new SILENT products ensure effective sound insulation in concrete structures. They are the result of large-scale scientific investigations and have set new benchmarks in the acoustics sector supported by measurements verified by internationally recognised materials testing institutes. Supporting columns: ORSO Even for high-load applications, ORSO industrially precast columns are significantly more slender than competing products. Moreover, they fulfil the highest static and aesthetic demands, while meeting the fire protection standards of the Union of Cantonal Fire Assurance Companies (VKF). ORSO-V steel/concrete composite columns and ORSO-B reinforced concrete columns are manufactured to the highest standards and are supplied ready to install. They can be installed safely, efficiently and cost-effectively
Successful resistance: DURA In flat slabs and floor slabs with zones that are subject to the effect of punching and shear load, our tried-and-tested DURA system provides markedly increased strength levels. DURA stirrup cages, DURA steel heads and DURA-S elements eliminate the need for concrete column head reinforcement and uneconomical slab thicknesses. Superbly flexible, the DURA system also allows combined solutions ideally matched to each individual application using the Aschwanden design software. Controlled forces: CRET Standard type or heavy-duty CRET shear load connectors are used in the construction of highintegrity shear load transmissions in movement joints, allowing deformation compatibility between adjacent building elements. CRET is a concept with convincing performance and cost-effectiveness in load transmission applications. Its salient features are low time expenditure in project planning and extreme ease of installation on the building site
Flexible anchorage: RIBA RIBA stainless steel anchors ensure high levels of safety when transmitting tensile and compression forces between separate reinforced concrete building elements. An added benefit is the extreme simplicity of installation. The RIBA range also includes high-strength stainless anchorage and reinforcement steels. Tailor-made solutions for dedicated applications can be developed to order at any time. Perfect connections: ARBO ARBO balcony connection reinforcements feature outstanding thermal insulation with designed structural-physical properties. Thermal bridging in cantilevered reinforced concrete building elements is efficiently reduced. ARBO reinforcements are fitted with rigid polyurethane foam insulation elements featuring flexible insulation thicknesses up to 250 mm. To provide long-term corrosion resistance, ARBO elements are manufactured exclusively in stainless steel
