1 Fire Your JOB! List of Possible Businesses The following is a list of types of jobs which could be a business. Your business is to provide the related product(s) or service(s). Some you consider as an employee, but they could be done as a consultant or temporary service. Many of these will involve different industries and some you may have never heard of. For example people may think of Wholesaler supplying a grocery store, but it is also a very big type of business in real estate. Have you seen the numerous billboards, TV ads, postcards with We Buy Ugly Houses with the caveman? The company is called Home Vestors and they are a huge nationwide real estate wholesale company. The business needs to have a focus. A restaurant needs to specialize in some type of food such as Chinese, Mexican, Steak, Seafood, or numerous others. These types usually have a further focus such as Chinese being American style, Szechuan, Hunan, Cantonese, and several others. Review these and cross out the ones you definitively do not want to do. Put a 1 beside the ones you are most interested in and a 2 beside the ones you might consider. If you are stuck, send us an at stuck@howtofireyourjob.com. This is a long list of business types. There are some examples for many of them, but there are more. These might trigger something you think of.
