1 Overview In today s residential building industry, two key elements played a role in BuilderMT creating its Builder Portal. First - the downturn in the housing market has lowered the amount of staff a homebuilder employs to manage home construction projects and in many cases owners and executives are now back in the field. Secondly - the technology available today, such as higher-speed data networks and revolutionary devices such as the ipad and other tablets, has brought the office to the field. The ability for homebuilders to manage hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars, of inventory and assets is now available with BuilderMT s Builder Portal. The Builder Portal represents the third generation of BuilderMT s field productivity tools. We have combined the features and functions found within the BuilderMT s Superintendent Portal and Trade Portal and combined them in the Builder Portal. This role based and cloud based solution runs under the powerful state of the art BMTCloud and can utilize all of the most popular browsers and any mobile device. The BMTCloud is a multi-tenant SaaS platform, which uses SQL Server database and supports both off-premise and self-hosted deployments. For Superintendents The Builder Portal, when accessed by a user with a Superintendent s role, offers the following: It provides additional functionality in WMS to further meet the needs of our Builder clients by extending the use of WMS Purchasing, Scheduling and other features to the field. It allows superintendents to manage various aspects of their daily tasks via the web. It can expand the Mobile Scheduling module to offer more scheduling detail on a larger screen (i.e. notebook, laptop, ipad, etc.). Users can review construction documents in the field. Users can collaborate with office staff, trades, vendors and others involved with the construction process via a message center without having to rely on Microsoft Outlook. It can track purchase orders, schedules, approval of invoices/purchase orders, payments, etc. for subs, vendors and material men. Also, with Builder Portal BuilderMT introduces Collaboration. This is the third product to be released under the BuilderMT Cloud. BuilderMT Collaboration allows Builder s to connect their BuilderMT Workflow Management Suite (WMS) Desktop and Builder Portal (trades, vendors, supers, etc.) to use a single, cohesive tool designed to send individual or group messages, as well as documents, to any other parties associated with the project(s). All communication can be automatically logged and stored in the BuilderMT database for future data mining. BuilderMT is providing Collaboration to all of its clients at no charge in an effort to increase the adoption of the BuilderMT Cloud as its next generation of software. Grid View The Grid functions within Builder Portal are consistent from Grid to grid. Each grid allows for the selection of the community, job, supplier, date range, etc. The user can also print each grid or export it to a.csv file if necessary.

2 Home Tab - Main Dashboard Once a superintendent logs in, he/she has the ability to review a series of Key Performance Indicators (KPI s) as well as a high-level status of any job schedule he/she is assigned to manage. Job Information and Documents Information about the job, such as job location, job documents and other job information, is displayed under the job information and documents drill down. As the superintendent enters a job, from the drop down menu, that job then carries through all other screens in order to simplify the process. However, jobs and trades can be selected or changed at any time on any screen. Daily Tasks The superintendent can find out what is due to start or finish today as well as tasks that should have already been completed by reviewing the Daily Tasks Grid and then drilling down to the appropriate job or supplier for further detail.

3 Schedule by Supplier Gives the ability to review one supplier who may be scheduled for one or all active jobs down to the schedule activity level. The superintendent can select an activity and have access to update the job schedule activity, notes, reminders and checklists, which in turn updates the main schedule at the home office. 4 Purchase Orders Allows for the ability to review all purchase orders by job and supplier. Purchase orders can be viewed, saved, printed and forwarded to the trade. Payments Allows access to all payments by supplier along with check number, invoice and purchase order number. Approved Payments If the homebuilding company is not using BuilderMT s Auto Approval Process via integration with BuilderMT Scheduling, then the superintendent can approve Purchase Orders for Payment from the Approved Payments Grid. Also allows the superintendent to approve an invoice in whole or partially. Reports Over 60 reports are available for online review or printing from a mobile device.

5 Collaboration BuilderMT Collaboration allows Builder s to connect their BuilderMT Workflow Management Suite (WMS) Desktop and through Builder Portal (trades, vendors, supers, etc.) use a single, cohesive tool designed to send individual or group messages, as well as documents and exchange communication. All communication can be automatically stored in the BuilderMT database for future data mining. Create and send messages with attachments to any Builder Portal trade user, superintendent or WMS desktop user. A message will appear at the top of the ribbon bar on Builder Portal (see the message icon and #1 below) desktop for the person receiving the message. Similar to Outlook, the receiver can now reply, include others, attach documents, etc. on this secure internal messaging center. For Trades, Suppliers and Vendors: The Trade Portal function of Builder Portal is a web-based application giving the trades/subcontractors and vendor s access to a cloud based application which provides flexible, interactive, real-time communications between trades and the Builder s staff. Trade-specific information like bid requests and quotations, schedules, payments, purchase orders, documents and notifications are available to the trades 24/7. Whenever a change is made in WMS, it is instantly communicated to the trades without the need to send s, make phone calls, or perform downloads to wireless devices. Trades have a flexible, secure, real-time mechanism to access: Bid Management Schedules Payments Purchase orders Notifications and other communications Project Documents Collaboration between trades/suppliers/vendors and their superintendents

6 For Trades, Suppliers and Vendors (cont d.) This ensures that the trades and vendors not only have the ability to enter bids, but also have ready access to the most up-to-date information for any projects that they are working on with the homebuilder. This greatly decreases the number of (and associated lack of reliability of) voice messages, faxes, and other forms of communication, similar to how Builder Portal handles communications with superintendents and project managers. All grid functions and other main characteristics of the Builder Portal available for use by the superintendent are available for the trades. The trades also have notifications highlighted in the ribbon bar next to the collaboration notification. Job Schedule View If the supplier is granted access, the job schedule view for the trade or supplier, allows them to view the complete job schedule, just not their portion of the job, which is found in the Supplier Schedule above. 8 Bid Management View Trade Contractor or Supplier can review all bid details from the Builder Ability to enter in Bid Items and Submit Bid back to WMS Bid Management Dashboard Ability to receive documents, plans, drawings, specifications via the Document Attachments tab Ability to ask questions and receive answers between the Trade and the Builder in the Question and Answer tab Ability to see rebid or deny bid information Similar to the spreadsheet bid sheet, the trade can enter their bids directly into the Builder Portal for real time updating to WMS for review by the Builder. Documents and Reports Similar to the superintendent features above, the trade and supplier can review current documents, send documents and view and print reports. Summary BuilderMT developed the Builder Portal based on the input from our hundreds of clients. Builder Portal allows anyone within the homebuilding company who needs access to job information to view and manage it via a larger display browser-based device. Project Managers, Superintendents, Executives, Owners, Trades, Vendors and Suppliers have access to all project information across all of their projects.
