Freedom brings more responsibilities. So we have planned most of the activities for you that has been designed to fire your imagination while exciting you to explore, discover and reinvent. Few guidelines for your parents to make your long summer break fruitful. 1. Knowledge is Power. Encourage your child to cultivate the reading habit because it not only enhances the knowledge acquired but also develops the vocabulary, language skills and improves spellings. And also read to your child because it builds reading skills and increases his/her attention span. 2. A healthy mind lives in a healthy body. Encourage your child to go out and play because sports instill discipline, generate sporting spirits, channelize energies constructively. 3. Communication skills play a pivotal role in grooming the overall personality of the children. Converse with your child preferably in English to help him / her get comfortable with the language. Encourage your child to read children s magazines like Magic Pot, Chandamama, Dimdima etc. 4. Spend quality time with your child engaging him / her in activities based on enhancing his / her powers of observation and imagination. 5. Encourage your child to play board games e.g. Chess, Ludo, Carrom etc. 6. Sensitize your child about the rich culture and heritage by watching different informative channels like The National Geographic, Animal Planet etc. 7. Encourage your child to do the activities himself / herself and appoint a specific time to do homework everyday. Q1. To make your reading and comprehension skills more sharp, read English newspaper/ magazine/ story book daily. 2 Q2. Do atleast 10 pages of cursive handwriting in a notebook. Cover the notebook and decorate it beautifully. Q3. Make a greeting card using block printing technique with vegetables or with dried leaves and flowers. Write a beautiful message, quote or poem for your brother/sister on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Q4. Read atleast TWO storybooks out of the list of books given below: Alice in Wonderland Cinderella Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Stories from Panchatantra a) Draw your favourite character b) Describe the character and why you like it. (to be done on A4 size coloured sheet) Q1. Make a thin copy for maths holiday homework. Use a colourful cover using beautiful mathematical shape- cuttings like squares, rectangles, circles etc. Write tables from 5 to 15 in it. Each table is to be written two times. Recite these tables to your parents thrice a week. Q2. Collect wrappers of 5 brands of chocolates and biscuits each. Mention the quantity and the rate printed on the wrapper on A4 size sheet. Q3. Find information and write about ANY TWO mathematicians on A4 size sheets. Also paste pictures of them. Q4. Complete Primary maths book till page no. 16. Q1. Make paper carry bags with old newspaper and decorate them. Q2. Go for Nature Walk and observe different types of plants. 3 Q3. Collect pictures of any 4 nests and paste them on A4 size sheets. Also write about the material used by birds in making the nest. Q4. Grow plants from garbage (procedure is given with the homework) and complete Reading Comprehension sheet and paste it in your science scrap file.

5 Q1. Click pictures of yourself doing various activities at home showing your contribution in helping your mother/father and paste them on A4 sheet. Write 3-4 lines for each activity saying why you like doing it. Q2. Visit any ONE of the following places with your family: a) Qutub Minar b) Red Fort c) Humayun s tomb Write 6-8 sentences on what you saw there and draw a related picture or click a photograph with your family and stick it along side to make it more interesting on an A-4 size sheet.
