3 SAFE, SIMPLE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY Acrodur is a binding agent for natural, synthetic and glass fibers. As a water-based system, Acrodur offers an alternative to formaldehyde-containing or solvent-based resins and therefore guarantees safe, simple and ecological handling.

4 Environmentally friendly and high-performing Acrodur, the water-based and formaldehyde-free cross-linking acrylate resin, is an environmentally friendly one-component system that boasts excellent binding properties. The underlying technology is based on the thermal cross-linking of polycarboxylic acids with a multi-functional alcohol. Unlike classical reactive resins, no organic substances such as phenol or formaldehyde are released during the cross-linking process. The only by-product caused by curing is water. Acrodur is neither toxic nor explosive, is safe and simple to handle, as well as environmentally friendly. The binding agent not only improves the properties of the finished product, but also ensures safe working conditions during production. Acrodur resin is nontoxic and enables safe manufacturing, producing very low VOCs. 4 Acrodur

5 Benefits that are convincing Ecological, innovative and cost-effective Acrodur combines the benefits of reactive acrylate resins with those of conventional thermoplastic acrylate dispersions. In addition, the binding agent can easily be mixed with water, other systems or additives. Ideal for semi-finished products Semi-finished products that have been impregnated with Acrodur stand out because, prior to curing, they are very ductile even after long storage. They ensure easy assembly and further processing. After curing, Acrodur lends products excellent mechanical stability, even at high temperatures. Depending on the choice of product Acrodur dispersions equip the finished product with tough-elastic thermoset properties whilst Acrodur solutions are responsible for hard thermoset properties. 6 Lightweight strength enhances performance Tailored technology for sophisticated applications Acrodur supports the use of renewable raw materials in the automotive industry. This binding agent turns natural fibers into functional and environmentally friendly materials. Fiber composites made of wood or bast fibers such as kenaf and flax are dimensionally stable, have good fracture behavior and are lightweight. This is why more and more car manufacturers have started to use natural fiber composites for lightweight components such as door linings, storage compartments and other car interior parts. Acrodur lends adhesive and strengthening properties to various types of natural fiber and in addition facilitates environmentally friendly solutions for car interiors. Perfectly suited for molded parts made from natural fiber and post-moldable nonwovens, Acrodur guarantees simple handing, a smooth assembly and ductility of semifinished products and properties that are perfectly adjusted to the material. 6 Acrodur
