Participants will learn about the possible connection between diet and Dementia. 2. Participants will learn about the nutrients that may help delay the onset of Dementia. 3. Participants will learn about the foods with these nutrients. Slide 3 Alzheimer s Disease Facts: Today, more than 5 million people are living with Alzheimer s Disease. 200,000 Americans with Alzheimer s Disease are under the age of 65 years old. It is estimated that in 2050, 16 million Americans will be diagnosed with this disease.

2 Slide 4 Alzheimer s Disease Facts: The 2014 direct cost to the American Society is estimated at $214 billion The 2050 direct cost estimated to be $1.2 trillion. Slide 5 Can Nutrition Help? Alzheimer s Disease may start up to 25 years before we start noticing forgetfulness Studies are showing a definite link between a healthy diet and a healthy brain NIH conducting an Alzheimer s Disease Prevention Trial. Slide 6 B Vitamins: Vitamin B6 Folate Vitamin 12
