2 AFTERSCHOOL CLUB CHANGES A reminder to all parents that Fizz Pop science club finishes Wednesday February 3 rd. If you would like your child to be put into a staff led club or normal Afterschool club after this date please inform the school office. Cookery, Construction and Multiskills ASC Please note that these clubs will not be running week the last week before half term. The clubs will continue from the second week after half term week. Multiskills club will run as normal with no need to rebook after the half term. However please let the School Office know if you wish your child not to continue. Cookery club and Construction club From the second week after half term, Construction club will now take place on a Tuesday and Cookery Club will take place on Wednesday. All children will need to rebook into these clubs. Please contact the school office before half term. SCHOOL ARRIVAL PROCEDURES Please ensure all pupils arrive at school after 8.15am as they will not be supervised before this time. CHINESE NEW YEAR MENU TUESDAY FEBRUARY 9 TH To celebrate Chinese New Year, Rendcomb College will be providing a Chinese New Year s lunch. The menu for the day is as follows: Chicken and Sweetcorn soup Pork in a sticky plum sauce, chicken and prawn stir fry, sweet and sour chicken, assorted dim sum, prawn toast, prawn crackers, noodles and rice, steamed broccoli and carrots and for pudding oriental fruit salad. A BIG THANK YOU We would like to say a big thank you to Jackson-Stops and Staff in Cirencester for sponsoring our Pantomime by paying for the cost of the coach. For our pupils it is a great opportunity to see live theatre with all the excitement and drama, some expected, some not! However back in the classroom,this opportunity has provided an excellent starting point for creative writing and art, for discussion and debate. Writing from a real experience helps many children who find it difficult to write creatively.
3 CAR PARKING The school has been contacted by the Parish Council regarding these general parking issues: When parking in the village please could we ask that you park with consideration for other road users. This includes ensuring there is enough space for emergency services to access the village. When parking in the village please avoid any pinch points and bends, and park tight to the kerb (with mirrors retracted where possible). Please refrain from parking large/wide cars of commercial vehicles in the narrow parts of the road, and park closely as possible to other parked vehicles- but leaving some spaces so that cars travelling in the opposite direction can pass. Your cooperation in trying to reduce the issues in parking in the village will be much appreciated. SCHOOL LIBRARY We would like to extend our library facilities to parents and pre-school aged children by opening up our library to parents/carers every Tuesday from 2.50pm 3.15pm. We hope that you may wish to choose a shared reading book or find bedtime reading material or look for reference books to help with homework. Books can be borrowed for 2 weeks and we would use our Micro-librarian system to log books in and out. (Please note that un-returned or lost books may incur a replacement charge.) MOTHERS DAY SERVICE The school will be holding a Mother s Day Service in our school hall on Friday March 3 rd at 2pm This will be followed by tea and cake. All are welcome to join us. MEET THE HEADTEACHER COFFEE AND CAKE AFTERNOON Come and meet Mrs Burr for a coffee, cake and an informal chat about school life on Wednesday March 9 th at 2.15pm.
4 AFTERSCHOOL CLUB ACTIVITIES ASC this month we have: Made profiteroles Painted Played with Playdoh Decorated crowns Played with Lego, polydrons and cars Played board games and used the new dart board played with the remote control car and played table tennis PIANO LESSONS Our new piano teacher Mrs Anna Vincent-Hill is looking for new students to take up piano lessons on our newly refurbished piano. Mrs Vincent-Hill is looking for children from year 2 to year 5 starting from Easter. Beginners or current learners welcome. Lessons take place during school time for 20 minute sessions. If you would more information please contact Anna at annavincent@yahoo.com or call GREEN CLASS SWIMMING A reminder to Green class that swimming commences on Thursday February 11 th. Please ensure your child has their swimming costume with them. Please can all payments be made via Parentpay by Monday February 8 th. TUPPERWARE BOXES If you have a school Tupperware box please can you return it to so we can use it for our cookery classes. Thank you. BABY CLOTHES Mrs Turner is revamping the dolls in Green class. If you have any good quality baby clothes, size new born or 7 pounds and under, Please speak to Mrs Turner.
