Integumentary System Special Sensory Systems At the end of the course, the students will be able to: Objectives Discuss the importance of human anatomy and physiology as it relates to the emergency care profession Interpret anatomical directional terms and body planes in relation to the anatomical position Diagram the structures that compose the axial and appendicular regions of the body Discuss the divisions of the abdominal region and its contents. List the three major body cavities and its contents For each of the eleven major organ systems in the human body, label a diagram of anatomical structures, list the functions of the major anatomical structures, and explain how the organs of the system interrelate to perform the specified functions of the system. For each of the special senses, label a diagram of the anatomical structures, list the functions of the anatomical structures, and explain how the structures interrelate to perform that sense s specialized functions. Discuss the cell structure and functions as it related to the practice of emergency care profession. Differentiate and describe the following tissue types: epithelial tissue, connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue Discuss the chemical and atomic composition of the body Describe the cell transport mechanisms and life cycle of the cells. Integrate the comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology of all human body systems to the assessment and management of sick and injured patients. Discuss the relationship between nutrition, metabolism and body temperature including method of heat regulation in human body.
