1 Office of Student Affairs Sports & Recreation POLICY VARSITY ATTIRE Updated 10 June Purpose The Varsity Attire Policy serves to document how varsity attires are to be printed and distributed amongst the 40 different sports under the care of the NUS Sports and Recreation Centre. 2 Scope This policy shall apply to all teamnus varsity athletes and Sports Club leaders. 3 Definition 3.1 The teamnus Varsity Attire consists of Varsity Jacket Varsity Polo Tee Training Tee Competition Jersey (Round neck tee) Competition Singlet Specific Competition Attire (Top & Bottom) Any other essential competition attire (shorts, socks etc) 3.2 All teamnus varsity athletes are only allowed to wear the teamnus Varsity Attire during competitions, and not any other personal/external attire Exception is only granted for varsity teams with internal/external sponsorship, where the value of the sponsorship is greater than SGD$10,000. These teams are allowed to wear sponsored attire or print sponsor s logo on their competition attire. 3.3 A teamnus varsity athlete is one who represents NUS in competitions, be it in the first team or reserves. All teams are to follow strictly to their team quota of varsity athletes. 3.4 A Sports Club leader is one who is part of the Management Committee of the NUS Students Sports Club. 4 Distribution 4.1 Varsity Jackets and Polo Tees All varsity athletes are entitled to only ONE Varsity Jacket and TWO Varsity Polo Tees in their undergraduate/postgraduate time in NUS Varsity team appointment holders are to submit their varsity team list 1-month prior to their first competition of each AY Sports Club leaders are entitled to only ONE Varsity Jacket and ONE Varsity Polo Tee (Orange) in their undergraduate time in NUS A total of 7 Varsity teams will receive the Polo Tee as their competition attire. Refer to Appendix A.
2 4.1.6 Team Managers are to collate the sizes for the new varsity athletes for the Jacket, Polo Tee and Training Tee Exchange of sizes is not allowed. 4.2 Training Tee All varsity athletes are entitled to TWO training tees in their entire undergraduate/postgraduate time in NUS. They are encouraged to wear this training tee during trainings to show a common identity Issuance of training tees will be based on team quota. 4.3 Competition Jersey (Round neck tee) A total of 10 Varsity teams will receive the Competition Jersey as their competition attire. Refer to Appendix A Varsity team Captains are to submit their team attire sizing to their respective Sports Manager 1-month prior to their first competition of each AY The Competition Jerseys are to be issued to the teams 2 weeks prior to their first competition Exchange of sizes is not allowed. 4.4 Competition Singlet A total of 6 varsity teams will receive the Competition Singlet as their competition attire. Refer to Appendix A Varsity team Captains are to submit their team attire sizing to their respective Sports Manager 1-month prior to their first competition of each AY The Competition Singlets are to be issued to the teams 2 weeks prior to their first competition Exchange of sizes is not allowed. 4.5 Specific Competition Attire (Top & Bottom) A total of 18 varsity teams will require Specific Competition Attire for their competitions. Refer to Appendix A For these teams, respective Sports Managers and Captains are to source for the required attire no later than 2 months prior to the teams first competition of each AY Sports Managers and Captains are strongly encouraged to source for attire with the NUS corporate colours (Orange & Blue). 4.6 Any other essential competition attire These include generic black shorts, running shorts, socks or caps. These items will only be procured where necessary.
3 5 Printing 5.1 Varsity Jackets and Polo Tees The Varsity Jacket and Polo Tee should be worn as it is and strictly no additional printing on them is allowed. 5.2 Training Tee Training tees will have teamnus Varsity Athlete printed on the front chest. Any additional printing on the training tee is optional, but restricted to the back of the tee. There will be no additional printing on the front Additional printing is strictly restricted to the team s name (e.g NUS Aquathlon). Refer to Appendix B The designated printer is AGT Marketing Pte Ltd located at 30 Shaw Road #01-05 S(367957) Font, font size and colour of the print have been predetermined. All you need to do is to bring the tees there and let them know your team name and they will know what to print The cost of printing ($3.75/pc) will be bore by the team. 5.3 Competition Jersey and Singlet All Competition Jerseys and Singlets will have the teamnus logo printed on the front left chest and NUS on the back. Refer to Appendix B A total of 7 varsity teams will have numbers printed on the back below the letters NUS. Printing of numbers on the front mid chest is optional. Refer to Appendix B The printing of numbers are to be in accordance to the rules of the respective sports A total of 10 varsity teams will have their team names printed on the back below NUS. Refer to Appendix B. 5.4 Specific Competition Attire Where possible, all Specific Competition Attire will have the teamnus logo printed on the front left chest. Refer to Appendix B A total of 4 varsity teams will have numbers printed on the back below the letters NUS. Refer to Appendix B. Printing of numbers on the front mid chest is optional The printing of numbers are to be in accordance to the rules of the respective sports. 5.5 All printing must be approved by Sports Managers and adhere to font and size set by SRC.
4 6 Procedure START Captain submits varsity team list to Sports Manager. Team Manager collates attire sizes of the new varsity athletes and submits to Sports Manager. Sports Manager checks against the team list and informs Team Manager when the attire is ready for collection. Team Manager collects attire and distribute to the members. END
