5 4 Possessive Pronouns 7 You already know the possessive determiners (besitzanzeigende Begleiter). They show that something belongs (gehört) to someone. Example: This book belongs to me. It s my book. possessive determiner If you don t want to repeat (wiederholen) a substantive you will use a possessive pronoun (besitzanzeigendes Fürwort). Example: Is this my book? - Oh yes, it must be mine. possessive determiner possessive pronoun Ist das mein Buch? - Oh ja, es muss meins sein.
