4 Pre-installation Checklist o Check the accuracy of your order on the form attached to outside of shipping tube. Verify the shade you have is the correct size for the window and mounting dimensions. o Match shade orders with windows. o Verify window frame for stability and any obstructions that would hinder shade opening and closing. o Measure height and width and diagonally from corner to corner to ensure window is true and square. o Check for level at sills (bottom and top). o Check each door jamb. o Check top sill (header) to ensure it is not bowed. o Wash your hands (to keep shades clean). o Open shipping tube(s) marked Remote in this tube first and remove contents from tube. o Do an inventory check to make sure you have all the parts needed. Shade Installation 1. Mount brackets per instructions included with brackets. Follow Inside Mount or Outside Mount instructions for mounting brackets ordered. Use slotted holes to temporarily mount brackets and adjust each installation if necessary. 2. Insert shade into bracket, battery side first with adjustable spindle extended. 3. Operate pre-programmed remote to check installation. Press UP, DOWN, and INTERMEDIATE (25%, 50%, and 75%) buttons to make sure shade has been installed properly. 4. Evaluate hanging shade and if shades need adjusting, loosen screws in slotted holes in brackets and then tighten when satisfied. If shade hangs correctly, drill pilot hole for each bracket in round hole to permanently fix brackets in final position. 4
5 Battery Saver Removal Over time your shade will get slower and slower as the batteries weaken Slide battery saver and battery tube out of shade. Remove battery saver from battery tube. Reinstall battery tube into shade. NOTE: Shade will be in transmitter learn mode for one minute. Battery Tube and Battery Installation Over time your shade will get slower and slower as the batteries weaken Remove shade from brackets. Look for battery tube label and pull battery tube from shade. Unscrew battery tube cap (counterclockwise) and remove all batteries from the battery sleeve. Always replace all batteries. You will need D alkaline batteries. Note battery orientation on outside label of tube. Replace sleeve and batteries into battery tube and reinstall battery tube into shade. Take care to align ridges of battery tube to the slots of the shade tube. No need to reprogram, your QMotion shade remembers the original settings. 5
6 Programming Your Shade(s) Remote CONTROL Settings Each remote has five buttons. UP Shade moves to full open DOWN Shade moves to closed position 25% 50% 75% Shades are programmed at the factory to recognize the remote. 1. Press UP button and shade moves upward to full open position. 2. Press DOWN button and shade will move to factory default about 24" down if on inside mount and covering the entire window opening for an outside mount. QMotion wall docking station 1. Place remote in QMOTION wall docking station. Remote will be held in place by magnets. Note: There are single, double, and triple units available. 6
7 SETTING THE LOWER LIMIT 1. Move shade to down position. 2. Press and hold DOWN button until shade moves up, then down. 3. Tug shade down to enter learn mode. STOP NOTE: If new desired down position is above the preset down position, raise shade using UP button and then stop it using DOWN button. 4. Manually move shade down to preferred final position. 5. Press and hold DOWN button until shade moves up to full open position. This sets the new down position. 7
8 SETTING CUSTOM intermediate positions 25% 50% 75% 1. Move shade to the intermediate position you want to change. 2. Press and hold the same position button 25, 50 or 75 until shade moves up and down. 3. Tug shade down to enter learn mode. OR STOP 4. Manually move shade to new position or use UP and DOWN button to move shade to position you desire. 5. Press and hold the corresponding intermediate position you wish to program until shade begins moving up. 8
9 MAnual shade operation x2 2" 2" 1. Slight downward pressure on hem bar and shade opens to next highest preset position (example above: shade moves from 75% to 50%). 2. Pull shade downward approximately 2" and shade moves to full open position. (Pulling shade more than approximately 2" and shade remains at position stopped). 3. Two successive pulls more than approximately 2" and shade moves to full open position. 9
10 LEARNING AN ADDITIONAL REMOTE CONTROL TO A SHADE(S) 1. Move all the shades you wish to group together on one remote to the UP position using your existing programmed remote(s). 2. One shade at a time. Press the UP button and hold until shades begin to move to the 75% position. Do this for all shades you are adding to the one remote. 3. Tug shade down on all the shades to enter learn mode. 4. Press UP button and hold on the remote you want to use to control the group. The shades will begin to move to the full open position and are now all learned to one remote. 10
11 learn remote control to shade 3" 1. Move shade to full open position. Remove shade from the window you wish to add to your remote. 2. Pull out battery tube 3". Wait ten seconds and then reinstall. This puts shade into learn mode for sixty seconds.* 3. Now replace shade in window brackets and press and hold the UP button. The shade has now synced with the remote. *Note: When battery tube is removed and reinstalled, there is a one minute learn window. After one minute, you must repeat process to re-enter learn mode. 11
12 Learning a new remote control without an existing LEARNED REMOTE CONTROL x2 1. Pull shade downward with two successive short tugs. 2. Shade moves to full open position. 3. Remove the shade from the brackets. 2" 4. Remove the battery tube, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert battery tube. (Shade will remain in learn mode for one minute.)* 5. Press and hold any button on the remote control for 10 seconds. Shade moves downward approximately 2" and returns to full open position confirming remote control has been learned. *Note: When battery tube is removed and reinstalled, there is a one minute learn window. After one minute, you must repeat process to re-enter learn mode. 12
13 deleting a shade from a remote 1. Move the shade to its UP position. Press and hold UP button until shade begins moving down. 2. Slightly tug the shade (or shades) you want to remove. 3. Press and hold DOWN button on remote you wish to delete until shade moves into full open position. Performing a master reset (CAUTION will reset to factory default) 25% % 2" This procedure clears all programmed settings. Move shade to full up position. Press and hold UP button, shade will start moving down. 2. Continue to hold UP button until shades reverse direction and returns to 25% position. 3. Within 15 seconds of shade stopping at the 25% position, pull shade down no more than 2" with a short tug. Shades memory has now been reset and is in transmitter learn mode for one minute. 13
14 Care and Cleaning Shade fabric can be cleaned by occasional light vacuuming. Shades may also be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution by gently wiping with a clean damp cloth. Avoid harsh scrubbing. Allow shade to air dry completely prior to raising.
