Step 5: Install the Corente Virtual Services Gateway Software A new Corente Virtual Services Gateway requires two files: the gateway software and the gateway configuration file. You created the configuration file in Step 4, but before you can load it onto your new Location gateway, you must first load the Corente Virtual Services Gateway Software. Note: If you have purchased a preinstalled Location gateway from Corente, you do not need to install the Corente Virtual Services Gateway Software. You will simply download and install the configuration file onto this machine as discussed in Step 6. If you are supplying your own Corente Virtual Services Gateway server, you will install the Corente Virtual Services Gateway Software using one of the following methods. Both of these methods are available via hyperlinks on the Corente Administration Homepage. USB Flash Drive Installation This method of installation allows you to create a Corente Virtual Services Gateway using a portable USB flash drive in the FAT format with 1 GB or more free space. CD Installation You can also perform installation using a CD. To begin installing the Corente Virtual Services Gateway Software, prepare your new Location gateway for installation: Physically connect your Location gateway to your LAN (if you have not already done so). It should also have access to the Internet. Corente Virtual Services Gateways do not require a mouse, keyboard, or monitor to operate. However, during the installation process, you will need to attach a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. The default management interface for your Corente Virtual Services Gateway will be set based on your initial interaction with the Corente Virtual Services Gateway either via a mouse, keyboard, and monitor. Step 5A: USB Flash Drive Installation To begin USB Flash Drive Installation, you must create the bootable flash drive that will install the Corente Virtual Services Gateway software onto your new Location gateway. To create this flash drive: 5B-1. Prepare a portable USB flash drive that uses the FAT format with 1 GB or more of free space. 5B-2. Access the Corente Administration Homepage and click the USB Flash Drive Installation hyperlink. Download the.zip file to your hard disk. The duration of the download depends upon the speed of your Internet connection. Copyright 2014, Oracle and/or its affiliates. 22 Corente Quick Start Installation Guide

5B-3. When the.zip has downloaded, extract the.exe file. 5B-4. Double-click the.exe file to open the USB flash drive installer. Click Next to move through the screens and create the bootable USB flash drive. 5B-5. When prompted, insert your flash drive into a USB port on your computer. The installer will automatically detect the removable drive on which to install the bootable USB flash drive files. MAKE SURE THIS IS THE CORRECT DRIVE! You could damage your system if the installer loads the files onto your hard drive. 5B-6. Once the installer has completed, you can use this bootable USB flash drive to install a new Corente Virtual Services Gateway. Note: If you are using Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 on your computer and User Account Control (UAC) is enabled, when the installer has completed, you may receive the following error message: "This program might not have installed correctly." Ignore this message. The bootable USB flash drive has been created successfully. Select "The program installed correctly." After you have created the bootable USB flash drive, complete the following steps to install the Corente Virtual Services Gateway Software: 5B-7. Insert the Corente Virtual Services Gateway bootable USB flash drive into one of the server s USB ports and boot the server. 5B-8. The software will load and request a reboot. Eject the USB flash drive. 5B-9. Once the server has booted, the software will be installed and you will be prompted for the Location gateway s configuration file. Proceed to Step 6 to learn how to download and install the configuration file on this Location gateway. Step 5B: CD Installation To begin CD Installation, you must create the CD that will install the Corente Virtual Services Gateway software onto your new Location gateway. To create this CD: 5C-1. Access the Corente Administration Homepage and click the For CD Installation hyperlink. 5C-2. Download the.iso file. 5C-3. Burn this CD image onto a blank CD using your preferred CD burning software. After you have created the CD, complete the following steps to install the Corente Virtual Services Gateway Software: Copyright 2014, Oracle and/or its affiliates. 23 Corente Quick Start Installation Guide

5C-4. Insert the Corente Virtual Services Gateway Software CD into the server s CD-ROM drive and boot the server. (Your server should be set to boot from CDROM prior to booting from the hard drive.) 5C-5. The software will load and request a reboot. 5C-6. Once the server has booted, the software will be installed and you will be prompted for the Location gateway s configuration file. Proceed to Step 6 to learn how to download and install the configuration file on this Location gateway. Copyright 2014, Oracle and/or its affiliates. 24 Corente Quick Start Installation Guide

Step 6: Download and Install the Configuration File After you complete the Location Wizard to create a new Corente Virtual Services Gateway, a configuration file is created that must be downloaded and installed on your new Location gateway after the software has been installed onto it. Figure 32: Download Gateway in App Net Manager Lite To install the personality file, you can use Zero Touch Installation, download the file directly to the Location gateway from the Internet, or download the file to a floppy disk or USB flash drive via App Net Manager and then load it onto the Location gateway. Choose the most convenient option. Step 6A: Zero Touch Installation You can install a new Location gateway simply by placing a server loaded with the Corente software on the network and turning it on using Zero Touch Installation. For information about configuring Zero Touch Installation, see the IIB. Corente Services Policy Definition & Provisioning manual. Note: If you are using a static IP address, PPPOE, or a proxy server to connect the Location gateway to the Internet, then you must download its personality file using another option. Note that these options may be used for normal operation of the Location gateway, however they cannot be used to download the configuration via Zero Touch Installation. When Zero Touch Installation is enabled, the configuration file is downloaded upon the first reboot after software installation. If there is no configuration file found on a floppy, a USB, or on the hard drive, the new Location gateway will attempt to acquire a dynamic IP address via DHCP. To utilize Zero Touch Installation, the Location gateway must be able to connect to the Internet, and the DNS server must be able to resolve to the Corente SCP. Communication between the new gateway and the SCP is secured using the HTTPS protocol. Copyright 2014, Oracle and/or its affiliates. 25 Corente Quick Start Installation Guide

Step 6B: Download and Install the File Directly to the Location Gateway from the Internet If your new Location gateway is installed in the exact network location where it will reside when operating, you can simply load the new Location gateway s configuration file from the Internet onto the device. 6B-1. After the Corente Virtual Services Gateway Software has been installed onto your Location gateway (see Step 5), make sure the Location gateway is connected to the LAN and/or Internet in the appropriate network position where it will reside when activated. 6B-2. Boot the server (if it is not already on), with a monitor & keyboard or workstation/laptop attached. 6B-3. If you select the Network Setup option on the installation interface, the Location gateway will lead you through a series of prompts to enter Internet connection information for the Location gateway. Scroll through the options on the installation screens with the keyboard s arrow keys and hit [Enter] to make your selections. If prompted for additional information after making your selection, input that information. 6B-4.To protect the download via SSL encryption, you will be prompted to enter your Administrator password. 6B-5. After this information is entered, the Location gateway will attempt to download the file directly to itself. After the file has downloaded, the Location gateway will restart and attempt to authenticate to the SCP for activation. Step 6C: Download and Install the File with a Floppy Disk or USB Flash Drive If you do not want to download the configuration file directly to the Location gateway, you can transfer the file from App Net Manager Lite to a floppy disk or USB Flash Drive. To begin, you must prepare a floppy disk or USB flash drive for the configuration file. If you decide to use USB Flash Drive Installation to install the software and have created the bootable USB flash drive, you can download the configuration file onto the USB flash drive. This is convenient if you are only installing one new Location gateway at this time; however, when loaded with a configuration file, the bootable drive can only be used to create one Location gateway. If you do not want to download the configuration file to the USB flash drive, prepare a separate, DOS-formatted floppy disk or portable USB flash drive in the FAT format. Access App Net Manager Lite. Open the File menu, highlight Wizards, and select Download Location. This will launch the Download Location Wizard that guides you step-by-step through the download process.
