Demolition Plan: Submit a written plan indicating the specific approach for HVAC demolition. C. Project Record Documents: Indicate deficiencies that would prevent proper use of systems to achieve performance. 1. Submit draft copies of Project Record Documents for review prior to final acceptance of Project. Provide final copies for Architect and for inclusion in closeout documentation. 2. Provide Project Record Documents in clear format complete with project identification. Include set of drawings with duct and inlets and outlets identified to correspond locations. 3. Include the following in the Project Record Documents: a. Name of company completing work. b. Address of company completing work. c. Telephone number of company completing work. d. Project name. e. Project location. f. Project Architect. g. Project Engineer. h. Project Contractor. i. Report date. j. Ductwork: 1) Identify size of supply, return and or exaust. 2) Identify type of construction. 3) Identify type and thickness of insulation. 4) Identify location of riser. Include location. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT A. Materials and equipment for patching and extending work: As specified in individual sections. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 EXAMINATION A. Verify field measurements and duct arrangements are as shown on Drawings. B. Verify that abandoned ductwork and equipment serve only abandoned facilities. C. Demolition drawings are based on casual field observation. D. Report discrepancies to Architect before disturbing existing installation. E. Beginning of demolition means installer accepts existing conditions PREPARATION A. Disconnect HVAC systems in walls, floors, a.nd ceilings to be removed MINOR HVAC DEMOLITION

2 3.03 DEMOLITION AND EXTENSION OF EXISTING HVAC WORK A. Remove, relocate, and extend existing installations to accommodate new construction. B. Remove abandoned ductwork to source of supply. C. Remove exposed abandoned ductwork, including abandoned ductwork above accessible ceiling finishes. Cut ductwork flush with walls and floors, and patch surfaces. D. Disconnect abandoned air outlets and inlets and remove. Remove abandoned air outlets and inlets if ductwork servicing them is abandoned and removed. Provide blank covers for abandoned air outlets and inlets that are not removed. E. Remove exhaust fans as noted. F. Remove piping as noted. G. Repair adjacent construction and finishes damaged during demolition and extension work. H. Maintain access to existing HVAC installations that remain active. Modify installation or provide access panel as appropriate. I. Extend existing installations using materials and methods as specified CLEANING AND REPAIR A. Control System Coordination Reports: Communicate in writing to the controls installer all setpoint and parameter changes made or problems and discrepancies identified during TAB that affect, or could affect, the control system setup and operation. C. Final Report: Indicate deficiencies in systems that would prevent proper testing, adjusting, and balancing of systems and equipment to achieve specified performance. 1. Revise TAB plan to reflect actual procedures and submit as part of final report. 2. Submit draft copies of report for review prior to final acceptance of Project. Provide final copies for Architect and for inclusion in operating and maintenance manuals. 3. Include actual instrument list, with manufacturer name, serial number, and date of calibration. 4. Form of Test Reports: Where the TAB standard being followed recommends a report format use that; otherwise, follow ASHRAE Std Units of Measure: Report data in 1-P (inch-pound) units only. 6. Include the following on the title page of each report: a. Name of Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing Agency. b. Address of Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing Agency. c. Telephone number of Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing Agency. d. Project name. e. Project location. f. Project Architect. g. Project Engineer. h. Project Contractor. i. Report date. D. Project Record Documents: Record actual locations of flow measuring stations. PART 2 PRODUCTS- NOT USED PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS A. Perform pre-modification system measurement of existing systems TESTING, ADJUSTING, AND BALANCING FOR HVAC

4 B. Perform total system balance in accordance with one of the following: 1. AABC MN-1, AABC National Standards for Total System Balance. 2. ASH RAE Std 111, Practices for Measurement, Testing, Adjusting and Balancing of Building Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration Systems. 3. NEBB Procedural Standards for Testing Adjusting Balancing of Environmental Systems. 4. SMACNA HVAC Systems Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing. C. Begin work after completion of systems to be tested, adjusted, or balanced and complete work prior to Substantial Completion of the project. D. TAB Agency Qualifications: 1. Having minimum of three years experience EXAMINATION A. Testing, adjustment, and balancing of air systems. B. Verify that systems are complete and operable before commencing work. Ensure the following conditions: 1. Systems are started and operating in a safe and normal condition. 2. Temperature control systems are installed complete and operable. 3. Proper thermal overload protection is in place for electrical equipment. 4. Final filters are clean and in place. If required, install temporary media in addition to final filters. 5. Duct systems are clean of debris. 6. Fans are rotating correctly. 7. Air outlets are installed and connected. 8. Duct system leakage is minimized. C. Submit field reports. Report defects and deficiencies that will or could prevent proper system balance. D. Beginning of work means acceptance of existing conditions PREPARATION A. Hold a pre-balancing meeting at least one week prior to starting TAB work. 1. Require attendance by all installers whose work will be tested, adjusted, or balanced. B. Provide instruments required for testing, adjusting, and balancing operations. Make instruments available to Architect to facilitate spot checks during testing. C. Provide additional balancing devices as required ADJUSTMENT TOLERANCES A. Air Handling Systems: Adjust to within plus or minus 5 percent of design for supply systems and plus or minus 10 percent of design for return and exhaust systems. B. Air Outlets and Inlets: Adjust total to within plus 10 percent and minus 5 percent of design to space. Adjust outlets and inlets in space to within plus or minus 10 percent of design RECORDING AND ADJUSTING A. Ensure recorded data represents actual measured or observed conditions. B. Permanently mark settings of valves, dampers, and other adjustment devices allowing settings to be restored. Set and lock memory stops. C. Mark on the drawings the locations where traverse and other critical measurements were taken and cross reference the location in the final report. D. After adjustment, take measurements to verify balance has not been disrupted or that such disruption has been rectified. E. Leave systems in proper working order, replacing belt guards, closing access doors, closing doors to electrical switch boxes, and restoring thermostats to specified settings TESTING, ADJUSTING, AND BALANCING FOR HVAC

5 3.06 AIR SYSTEM PROCEDURE A. Adjust air handling and distribution systems to provide required or design supply, return, and exhaust air quantities. B. Make air quantity measurements in ducts by Pitot tube traverse of entire cross sectional area of duct. C. Measure air quantities at air inlets and outlets. D. Adjust distribution system to obtain uniform space temperatures free from objectionable drafts and noise. E. Use volume control devices to regulate air quantities only to extend that adjustments do not create objectionable air motion or sound levels. Effect volume control by duct internal devices such as dampers and splitters. F. Vary total system air quantities by adjustment offan speeds. Provide drive changes required. Vary branch air quantities by damper regulation. G. Provide system schematic with required and actual air quantities recorded at each outlet or inlet. H. For variable air volume system powered units set volume controller to air flow setting indicated. Confirm connections properly made and confirm proper operation for automatic variable air volume temperature control. I. On fan powered VAV boxes, adjust air flow switches for proper operation SCOPE A. Test, adjust, and balance the following: 1. Air Handling Units 2. Air Terminal Units 3. All Ducts: Galvanized steel, unless otherwise indicated. B. Low Pressure Supply (System with Cooling Coils): 1/2 inch w.g. pressure class, galvanized steel. C. Return and Relief: 1/2 inch w.g. pressure class, galvanized steel. D. General Exhaust: 1/2 inch w.g. pressure class, galvanized steel MATERIALS A. Galvanized Steel for Ducts: Hot-dipped galvanized steel sheet, ASTM A653/A653M FS Type B, with G60/Z180 coating. B. Joint Sealers and Sealants: Non-hardening, water resistant, mildew and mold resistant. 1. Type: Heavy mastic or liquid used alone or with tape, suitable for joint configuration and compatible with substrates, and recommended by manufacturer for pressure class of ducts. 2. Surface Burning Characteristics: Flame spread of zero, smoke developed of zero, when tested in accordance with ASTM E84. State Project # HVAC DUCTS AND CASINGS

8 C. Hanger Rod: ASTM A36/A36M; steel; threaded both ends, threaded one end, or continuously threaded DUCTWORK FABRICATION A. Fabricate and support in accordance with SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards and as indicated. B. No variation of duct configuration or size permitted except by written permission. Size round duct installed in place of rectangular ducts in accordance with ASHRAE Handbook Fundamentals. C. Provide duct material, gages, reinforcing, and sealing for operating pressures indicated. D. Increase duct sizes gradually, not exceeding 15 degrees divergence wherever possible; maximum 30 degrees divergence upstream of equipment and 45 degrees convergence downstream. E. Fabricate continuously welded round and oval duct fittings in accordance with SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards FIBROUS GLASS DUCTS A. Fibrous Glass Ducts: 1 inch thick rigid glass fiber with aluminum foil, glass scrim and Kraft or plastic jacket vapor barrier; maximum 0.23 K value at 75 degrees F. 1. UL labeled to UL 181. B. Fabricate in accordance with SMACNA Fibrous Glass Duct Construction Standards, except as indicated. C. Machine fabricate fibrous glass ducts and fittings. Make only minor on site manual adjustments. D. Do not use fibrous glass ducts within 12 inches of electric or fuel fired heaters. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 INSTALLATION A. Install, support, and seal ducts in accordance with SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards. B. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. C. During construction provide temporary closures of metal or taped polyethylene on open ductwork to prevent construction dust from entering ductwork system. D. Duct sizes indicated are inside clear dimensions. For lined ducts, maintain sizes inside lining. E. Locate ducts with sufficient space around equipment to allow normal operating and maintenance activities CLEANING A. Clean duct systems with high power vacuum machines. Protect equipment that could be harmed by excessive dirt with filters, or bypass during cleaning. Provide adequate access into ductwork for cleaning purposes. END OF SECTION HVAC DUCTS AND CASINGS

Manufacturer's Installation Instructions: Indicate support and hanging details, and service clearances required. E. Project Record Documents: Record actual locations of units. F. Operation and Maintenance Data: Include manufacturer's descriptive literature, operating instructions, maintenance and repair data, and parts lists. Include directions for resetting constant volume regulators. G. Warranty: Submit manufacturer warranty and ensure forms have been completed in State of Missouri Office of Administration, Div FMDC's name and registered with manufacturer QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing the type of products specified in this section, with minimum three years of documented experience. B. Products Requiring Electrical Connection: Listed and classified by Underwriters Laboratories Inc. as suitable for the purpose specified and indicated WARRANTY A. See Section Closeout Submittals, for additional warranty requirements. B. Provide five year manufacturer warranty for air terminal units. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 MANUFACTURERS A. Price Product As indicated on drawings.. B. Other acceptable manufacturers offering equivalent products MANUFACTURED UNITS A. Ceiling mounted fan powered supply air control terminals for connection to single duct, central air systems, with mechanical constant volume control. B. Identify each terminal unit with clearly marked identification label and air flow indicator. Include unit nominal air flow, maximum factory set airflow, minimum factory set air flow, and coil type. PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 INSTALLATION A. Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. B. Support units individually from structure. Do not support from adjacent ductwork. C.
