3 There is a variety of sun protection products on the market; from the aluminum horizontal blinds, wooden blinds, fabric roller blinds to pleated blinds and Japanese panels which are becoming more and more popular. Choosing the proper product is not an easy task. If we want to be satisfied we should analyze available solutions; colors as well as functionality and possible ways of installation. 4 Roller blinds come in several types with various ways of installation and different mechanisms used. Their advantage lies in simple measurement and installation. Available systems can be used to cover almost any window. Nearly all fabrics can be used in roller blinds although there are some fabrics dedicated for large dimensions. Those fabrics will not work in a smaller system because of their increased stiffness.

5 About the fabrics Polyester fabrics are most common in the production of roller blinds. Fabrics can be transparent or darkening. We recommend full darkening fabrics (blackout) in case of windows exposed to strong sunlight. We learned that mono color darkening fabrics are most popular in Poland. During the day the fabric blocks the sun but doesn t completely darken the room. In the evening the roller blind can be closed so that the interior is not visible from the outside. Although there are many decorative transparent fabrics available their sales are still relatively low. In the case of roller blinds for roof windows full darkening fabrics are most common.

6 About the fabrics Lately SCREEN-type fabrics are becoming more and more popular. Commonly used in the offices, gastronomy and any other place when we want to block the sunlight and keep outside vision at the same time. Keep in mind that the situation is reversed when the lights in the room are turned on the inside of the room is clearly visible from the outside.

7 Free-hanging roller blinds Mini roller blinds (Triola) tube diameter 16-18mm installed on the window frame into a glazing slat (invasive way) or on a special hangers (non-invasive way). The most popular version is equipped with a side lines. It s possible to equip a roller blind with an electric drive, useful when we don t want a hanging chain.

8 Free-hanging roller blinds Standard roller blinds (Presto) tube diameter 25-28mm installed on the wall or ceiling. Mechanism is provided with a device which prevents the chain from falling out. It s possible to equip an electric drive as well.

9 Free-hanging roller blinds Largo roller blinds tube diameter 38-40mm dedicated for covering large areas. Often used with an electric drive.

10 Free-hanging roller blinds Legato is a semi-automatic roller blind. It s a perfect solution for those who appreciate comfort, ease of use and time. Manual operation of roller blinds might be inconvenient, on the other hand fully automatic products with electric drive are more expensive. Because of that Legato is a perfect solution which combines quality and decent price.

11 Roller blinds in cassette It s necessary to check if the width of the window bay makes it possible to open the window after the cassette is installed. Roller blinds in cassette are perfect solution for nearly any window. In this case the fabric is hidden in an elegant cassette which protects it from dust and dirt. Guiding rails hold the fabric in place and prevents the sunlight from peeking in.

12 Roller blinds in cassette It s necessary to check if the width of the window bay makes it possible to open the window after the cassette is installed. Half-cassette (Passionata) half-cassette is screwed and guiding rails are glued to a glazing slat. Smooth surface is required for installation. Available colors match the most popular window profiles. Advantages of Passionata are small size of a cassette and possibility to provide large degree of interior darkness. It s currently the most popular type of roller blind mounted into a window frame.

13 Roller blinds in cassette Full cassette (Suita) installed into a window frame. Both cassette and guiding rails are glued so that installation is completely non-invasive. It can be used regardless of the type of glazing slat. Darkness provided is similar to that of Passionata.

14 Day/Night Roller blinds Roller blinds in Day-Night system are currently the most interesting product on the market. In this system the fabric is split into transparent and darkening horizontal stripes. Alternating stripes make it possible to adjust the amount of sunlight in the room. It s very easy to create proper atmosphere with simple movement of the chain or pressing remote control.
