13 Brooklands - The birthplace of British motorsport and aviation. Constructed by Hugh Locke King in 1907, Brooklands, our unique location, was the first purpose-built motor racing circuit in the world. Its heyday was the 1920s and 1930s, when records were being set and broken by Malcolm Campbell, John Cobb and other famous drivers. The world land speed record was broken here for the first time, and the track that is still visible today once hosted the first British Grand Prix
