3 Welcome to Hertfordshire Development Centre Hertfordshire Development Centre at Robertson House, is a first class conference, training, meeting and exhibition facility run by Hertfordshire County Council. Whether you are looking to hold a small meeting, a training session, an exhibition, a large conference for up to 300 or an elegant gala dinner, the Hertfordshire Development Centre can accommodate your every need. The centre offers 17 rooms of various sizes, all of which are very versatile and can be set up flexibly to meet your bespoke event needs. Each room is air conditioned, has natural daylight and is fitted with state-of-the-art audio visual technologies. A member of our professional and experienced Centre Management Team will help organise every aspect of your conference, meeting or corporate event. They specialise in the planning, administration and delivery of major events and are always on hand to provide assistance and ensure that you event runs smoothly. Lynda Scriminger Centre Manager Hospitality services Working in partnership with Elior, our on-site caterers, Hertfordshire Development Centre offers a comprehensive range of flexible catering options to suit your event needs. Enclosed with this brochure is a copy of our latest hospitality menu which will give you a flavour of the range of hospitality available to you when you use our facilities, but is by no means exhaustive. We offer a range of set packages, but we are always happy to discuss your individual needs and put together a menu tailored to suit you and your delegates, whatever the event. We can cater for every budget and for every occasion. 4 Training rooms The accommodation at Hertfordshire Development Centre is made up of one extra large and eight large training rooms, seven medium training rooms, two state of the art ICT suites and a 300 seat conference room, all of which are fully air conditioned. The centre also includes a dedicated reception and registration area, four breakout areas, the Hub restaurant and a Costa Coffee bar. The Oak conference room has staging, surround sound, LCD projector, mounted laptop, lapel, handheld and lectern microphones, mounted video camera and two plasma screens to compliment the main screen. It also has the facility for video conferencing, a lighting rig with colour wash and spotlights and free standing panels for exhibitions and displays. Room layouts 3

6 Supporting services In addition to the provision of the training centre the Centre Management Team also offer a range of supporting services: Inclusive technical support Wi-fi is embedded throughout the training centre and all of our rooms are fitted with an LCD projector, mounted laptop, DVD and CD players, microphones, hearing loops, interactive white boards in the medium rooms and symposiums in the large rooms. Our dedicated audio visual technicians are available at any time to assist you use and get the most out of the inclusive audio visual equipment. Equipment hire We are offer a comprehensive equipment hire service for events taking place at Hertfordshire Development Centre. Our most popular hire items include: Laptops Voting system (32 handsets) Microphones with headset Video conferencing unit Desk top speaker system (15 microphones) Digital cameras Video cameras (DVD) Services of a dedicated audio visual technician (full or half day) Event management and administration The experienced Centre Management Team can help manage your event from simply giving advice on planning and organising, to managing and running your event in its entirety. We also offer a professional event administration service including: Provision / management of a registration desk Provision of bespoke event signage Printing / collation of confirmation letters Event evaluation forms and analysis Printing / collation of delegate packs Joining instructions Production of delegate lists and labels Collation and addressing of envelopes Design and production of delegate badges Design and distribution of invitations Point of contact for booking enquiries Administration of workshop allocations Loading and cleaning of data memory sticks The above examples are just a guide of the services offered and can be enhanced and expanded to suit your needs. 5
7 How to book Booking rooms and services at Hertfordshire Development Centre is simple and quick for your convenience. Hertfordshire County Council staff can make an online booking directly using the FMeasy booking system which can be located on Compass. This system shows a complete summary of the availability at the training centre. It also details the room sizes and capacities so you can select the most appropriate room for your requirements. Please ensure you select a room layout before submitting your booking. Catering can also be added to your booking on this system. Please forward equipment bookings and queries to Robert French or Martin Young. Up to date PDF s of our room prices, terms and conditions and full hospitality brochure are also located on the system for your reference. Once your booking has been authorised by us on FMeasy you will see it as completed in your sent items. We will also send you a booking confirmation with your unique event ID.
