This can be done with 6 strands of different colors twisted, braided or with a chain stitch and tacked on at brim Size of roses depends on the chosen yarn. Rosette Blossom Follows

13 Magic Ring with 10 sc in it and pull to tighten and join Sc in each around, join Chain 11 for first petal Sc in first chain, hdc, dc to last 3 stitches, hdc, sc, slip stitch into last chain and into next two sc (see photo below) on the circle for the next petal. Repeat from above with ch 11 Make 7 petals

14 After all petals are complete, choose a contrasting color to pipe around with sc, slip stitch between each petal as you move to the next petal IN BACK LOOPS ONLY Photo shows completed flower. If desired make a smaller flower(s) for center and use leaf pattern for several leaves. Use your imagination and the photos of the bonnets for this. Make a length of chain stitches and sew to bonnet in curls add ribbons, crochet balls, and pearls

15 White Bonnet You will need: Yarn - Yarn Art Begonia, 100% cotton, 169m / '50 On Exhaust fuel 1 skein. Hooks - 1.5, (US Size 8) 2.1. (US Size 3) With No. 3 Hook 2.1mm Each row starts with ch3 so let's begin. Chain 5 closed into a ring. 1st row - Ch3 15 dc in ring. 2 row Ch2, hdc, ch1 around, join

16 3rd row 2dc, ch1 in each hdc around. Row 4 Ch4, (dc, ch1) in each dc around Row 5-2 dc in dc of previous row, ch1, (dc in next, ch1, *2dc in next, ch1, dc in next, ch1 *, repeat from ** around. Work looks like this at end of row 5

17 6th row - 1dc in first, 2dc in next, ch1, dc in next, ch1, *(1dc in next, 2dc in next), (ch1, dc, ch1) in next *, Repeat from ** around 7th row 1dc in first, dc in next, 2dc in next (4dc group), (ch1, dc in next, ch1), *dc in each of first 2 stitches of next group, 2dc in next, (ch1,dc,ch1) * Repeat around from ** around

18 8 row *2dc first, dc in each of next two, ch 1, skip one stitch, (dc, ch1, dc) in next*. Repeat from ** around. See Photo below Repeat Row 8 to desired depth of bonnet. This one came out to the 25 row BRIM Change to #8 Hook Do 2 to 3 rows of sc. In the last row increase in every third stitch to widen the brim. End with one row of slip stitch or reverse sc. (Photo below shows reverse sc) Steam hat if desired.
