2 Chairperson and all stakeholders in the club Main role: Chair committee meetings and the AGM, assist the Club Secretary to produce the agendas and head the Committee in making decisions for the benefit of the whole club including disciplinary matters. What else does the job entail: As chairperson of the Club, it is essential to be a strong leader who can be objective. As the supporting officer to the Secretary it is useful for you to be accessible via all forms of communication. How much time is needed: Two to three hours per month for meetings. Chair committee meetings / AGM. Agree agenda for committee meetings and the AGM. Personality traits: Outgoing, friendly, to be the face of the club. Club Secretary via the Chairperson Main role: Principal administrator for the club. The Club Secretary carries out or delegates all the administrative duties that enable the club and its members to function effectively. The Club Secretary is a pivotal role within the club, with a close involvement in the general running of the club. The Secretary is the main point of contact for people within and outside the club on just about every aspect of the club s activities. What else does the job entail: As first point of contact it is helpful for the Club Secretary to be available to take phone calls during their working day. This is a demanding high profile job that has a major impact on the efficient and effective management of the club. The Secretary has contact with a side range of people from within and outside the club. Representation of the club at outside meetings provides the opportunity to find out what is going on at league and county level, this could be the platform for future volunteering opportunities. How much time is needed: Approx 8 hours per week, many of which are weekends or evenings. Attend league meetings Affiliate to County FA and local league. Registering players to league Dealing with correspondence Organising club AGM and other club meetings Representing club at outside meetings at the direction of the club committee. Personality traits: Organised, dedicated, determined, approachable and outgoing.

3 Vice Chairperson Responsible to: Club Committee and Club Chairperson specifically when deputising For all other information, see similar to Chairperson. Main role is to assist and deputise for the Club Chairperson Treasurer Main role: To look after the finances of the club. What else does the job entail: The Treasurer must be well organised, able to keep records, careful when handling money and cheques, scrupulously honest, able to answer questions in meetings, confident handling figures and prepared to take instant decisions when necessary. How much time is needed: Two to three hours per week. Collecting subs Paying bills and recording info Keeping all financial records up to date Cash and cheques are paid to bank promptly Ensuring that funds are spent properly Issuing any receipts Reporting regularly to Committee and preparing and presenting end of year accounts for AGM Child Welfare Officer (CWO) and will benefit from working closely with County FA CWO Main role: Working with the club officials and team management to implement and maintain a duty of care when running football (or any other) activities for children. Importantly you will be a point of contact for the children if they have any concerns about the way they are being treated (see Safeguarding Children policy) What does the job entail: Being clear about the clubs responsibilities when running activities for children and young people, including: working with the Youth League Welfare Officer, working with County FA Welfare Officer, promoting the FA Respect programme, developing and maintaining best practice, ensuring that others are clear on their roles, responsibilities and actions in relation to child safeguarding. How much time is needed: Varies. As the club develops there will be a need to take on more than one CWO Important that this role applicant understands: Aims of the RESPECT programme Benefits of implementing the RESPECT Codes of Conduct. Quick wins to be gained by using The FA s Safeguarding Children Best Practice Guidelines.

4 Why certain roles require an Enhanced CRB check and how The FA CRB process works. How to refer a concern about the welfare of a child. You will need to communicate with: Your Youth League Welfare Officer introduce yourself and find out how they can support you County FA Welfare Officer if you need help or advice. AWJFC Coaches and Managers - about the importance of being consistent role model for their players. Parents and new players getting involved with welcome sessions Club officials about the RESPECT programme and it s aims. Parents / spectators getting them to sign up to the RESPECT programme The FA by taking part in surveys, focus groups, etc when asked. You will need to encourage: Relevant people (coaches, first aiders, etc) - to complete the Safeguarding children Workshop Coaches / managers - to listen to their players thoughts, ideas and views The committee to make use of the RESPECT programmes designated spectator areas at all games. Parents to complete the RESPECT education programme You will need to monitor: Repeated incidents of poor behaviour and liaise with your committee, YLWO or CoWO Compliance with Enhanced CRB checks through The FA CRB Unit who require one using the FA Safeguarding Online System. Personality traits: Organised, not afraid to question the status quo, encouraging, a good listener outgoing, determined and caring. Fundraising Officer Main role: To raise funds for the club. What else does the job entail: Essential to have good organisational skills, be innovative, enthusiastic and prepared to make a regular time commitment. Previous experience with grant applications is useful. How much time is needed: On average two to three hours per week. This could be more during fundraising events. Applying for grants and sponsorships Co-ordinating fundraising events Ensure that raised funds are passed to the Treasurer and properly documented. Personality traits: Outgoing, friendly, a good networker determined, able to seek out opportunities.

5 Youth Team Manager / Coach Responsible for: your designated team Main role: To provide a team to compete in the local youth league / cup competitions. The manager is responsible for all aspects of activity in this area for his / her age group. The manager is permitted to engage assistants as required as long as they meet the membership requirements of the club. What are the criteria to manage / coach a team: You must possess or in your first year be willing to undertake the minimum criteria of The FA Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Football (including Emergency Aid and Safeguarding Children). You are required to complete an FA CRB check. What does the job entail: Team selection, organisation of training, reporting results, liaising with parents / carers, ensuring subs are paid on time, monthly managers meetings, end of season reporting. How much time is needed: Team activities on match day can extend to around 4 hours (or so!). Training sessions of around 1 to 2 hours are scheduled on Saturday and through summer months Wednesday evenings too. Other duties include filing match reports, scores, etc with local league office. Personality traits: Outgoing, friendly, a good communicator, caring, level headed. Media Manager / Secretary Main role: To raise the profile of the club in the local community. Creation, maintenance and updating of the clubs website and social media in strict accordance to The FA guidelines in these areas. Creation of reports for local press. How much time is needed: 1 to 2 hours per week. Personality traits: Excellent communication skills. Schools Liaison Officer Main role: To develop links to foster effective relationships with local schools to facilitate: sharing of resources and knowledge, recruitment of players, promote the club in schools, support schools with the running of during and after school football activities, provide the link between primary and secondary school football, build relationships with PE staff, present clubs plans for development to school staff / PT committee. How much time is needed: 1 to 2 hours per week. Personality traits: Excellent communication skills and good organisation.

6 Charter Standard Co-ordinator Main role: To implement, oversee and gather information to ensure that AWJFC receives and maintains Charter Standard status. A pivotal role in the club, this being a key task in both our requirements for league membership and our strategy as a forward thinking, developing club. How much time is needed: A lot when first applying for CS status! Then, each season a health check form should be completed. The applicant for this role should however not see this as a once a year role and should instead maintain a consistent approach throughout the year to ensure that all areas of Charter Standard requirements are fulfilled and should ensure this is at the forefront of the committee s thoughts and meetings. Charter Standard rules, guidelines and requirements should effectively be the blueprint and process control for running of the club. Personality traits: Methodical, organised, determined and willing to challenge the status quo. Social Secretary Main role: To organise social events to bring the players, officials and parents together in a social setting to enhance relationships within the club. Potentially invite and encourage local dignitaries to develop and improve the club s links to local community. As a club we are passionate about improving and maintaining a status of enjoyment and fun, this is a key role within our club and within our strategy for development. How much time is needed: Approx 3 hours per month more if there is a particular event being held during the month e.g. Presentation evening. Key tasks: Organise end of season presentation evening, organise social events for players / parents throughout the season, organise the Christmas function (Santa Saturday). This will include booking venues, entertainment, catering, etc. Personality traits: Enthusiastic, motivated, good communication skills, well organised and committed to fostering good relationships across the club.
