3 Clients need to be educated to follow a home maintenance routine that will prolong their tan. When Not To Apply Spray Tanning? A sun burnt client Client with open sores and wounds Client with skin infections Client with hypersensitive skin always do a patch test first Pregnant woman Preparing Our Client For His / Her Appointment For best results, our client must either the night before, or the morning of his/her tanning appointment, shower and exfoliate the entire body. Exfoliation will remove dead skin cells that would otherwise flake off and helps to promote even coverage and lengthen the duration of the tan. When exfoliating, pay particular attention to the lower half of the legs, the knees, the ankles, top of the feet, toes, elbows and the knuckles. Use an exfoliating lotion, washcloth and scrubbing mitt. Use a pumice stone on feet if necessary. It is best to shave or wax at least 8 hours before a tanning appointment. Do not apply moisturizer until after the post tanning shower. Lotions can act as a barrier and prevent the solution from contacting the skin. The same applies to the face and the wearing of make-up. Nails should be protected with clear nail polish. On Booking A Client For A Sunless Tan, The Client Should Be Made Aware Of The Following: Do not wear perfume,, moisturizer or deodorant Wear loose and dark clothing and open shoes Shave and exfoliate at least 6 hours before tanning to allow pores to normalize Wear dark colored underwear or a bathing suit to be tanned in. It is common for ladies to be tanned topless. The solution washes out of most clothing easily but tends to stain light nylon materials. A shower cap can be worn if spray on the hair is to be avoided.
