2 a w o r d f r o m t h e f o u n d e r Dear Reader, Thank you for your interest in the London International School of Performing Arts. Since its foundation in 2003, LISPA has attracted theatre and performance artists from over 40 different countries interested in deepening their experience as creators of original work. Rooted in the teachings of the late Jacques Lecoq, the school offers a unique pedagogy for the devising artist that continues to evolve in response to changing paradigms in many fields of knowledge. It is an international meeting place for artists from different backgrounds who wish to develop and shape not only their own artistic universe, but the voice of their generation. Our two full -time courses, and, explore the process and practice of devising theatre and performance. They aim to inspire our students to embrace the challenges of creating original work whether as performers, writers, directors or actors in a collaborative production, company or solo performance; as an exclusive professional choice, or in addition to their careers in the industry. LISPA s 2015 season marks the beginning of a series of exciting new developments. After the successful launch of our international summer program 2014 in Berlin, we are now looking forward to beginning our full -time program in with a 10 week stay in Berlin, one of Europe s most creative capitals. This experience will allow not only our international students, but also our UK based students to begin their journey away from their familiar environment, which will create a more intense atmosphere and further enhance the quality and depths of the training. After the initial 10 weeks in Berlin, students will continue and complete the program in London. On the following pages, we would like to give you more information about the teaching philosophy of the school, as well as a detailed introduction to the different courses and course components offered at LISPA. Should this information raise your interest in one of our programs, please don t hesitate to contact us. Prospective students can schedule a personal meeting with teaching staff, students, or our Head of Admissions, arrange a visit to observe a class, or see one of the public presentations of our current students. We would like to provide you with as much information as possible in order for you to decide whether LISPA is the right place for you to become the artist you wish to be. Please enjoy the information and let us know whether there is anything else we can do for you. With best wishes, Thomas Prattki Founder and Director London International School of Performing Arts 1 LISPA 3 Mills Studios Three Mill Lane London E3 3DU United Kingdom LISPA Ltd 2014
