1 Career Research Project Applied Learning Standards A3a: The student gathers information to assist in completing project work A2c: The student develops a multi-media presentation, combining text, pictures and sound A2a: The student makes an oral presentation of project plans or findings to an audience with expertise in the relevant subject matter. Name: Date: Occupation: An old proverb says, Tell me, and I forget. Show me, and I remember. But involve me, and I understand." Your career research project will involve all three of these steps. Through research, preparation of slides, and presentation of findings, you and the class will gain comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the career you have chosen. It is important for you to research a career that is of major interest to you so that you can begin exploring realistic post - secondary options for study/training. Your task for this project is threefold: to learn all you can about your career of choice, compile your information in a PowerPoint slide format, and share what you have learned with the class.
2 Part 1:Research (Using Resources/Information Seeking) Record the information and sources of information you have gathered on the graphic organizer below. Use a minimum of four sources. Use MLA format to document sources (See NHS Writing Handbook) You MUST submit your documented research notes on this completed graphic organizer on the day of your presentation. You must use MLA format in creating your Power Point (See NHS Writing Handbook, In-text documentation and Work Cited)) Part 3: Presentation When you think your Power point is ready, arrange for a practice/run-through with your teacher. Use feedback from practice session to polish up your presentation. Present your Power Point to the class at the arranged time.
